There won't be many places that teach japanese, the best thing you can probably do is just self-learn from the internet. The best way to learn a new language is to live in the country for awhile. Theres a good app on itunes that may help you.

Knowing how to pronounce it right is really important. You need to be able to know what it sounds like from a Japanese person or someone that doesn't have a bad accent. Most people I study with at Uni have a bad pronunciation. It's good to get a language exchange partner or Japanese friend. Be really keen and polite and noone will think you're too ignorant. I felt that way a bit though even though a new a bit of Japanese

We used to have Japanese students stay with us. It is a very difficult to get the correct intonation. Some words can be almost identical in sound but mean very different things. The grammar is a nightmare as well.
The best way to learn is with a tutor - preferably Japanese - but this would be expensive.
There are online basic lessons for free.

Stay in Japan for few months and talk japanese everyday. To learn it fast stay in a area which nobody know english but japanese. Otherwise attend a course and have a buddy to practice regularly. You may go online to know japanese people and chat with them online via skype or conference video etc.

I studied Spanish by having private lessons, labelling things around the home and listening to Spanish radio. Eventually visiting Spain as many times a possible.

Go to the library or book store and get a cassette kit of Japanese. Make sure it also has a little booklet to go with it so you can read along!

Go and join an adult education class in Japanese for beginners. If you live anywhere near Birmingham (UK) they do them at the Brasshouse Centre and they are enrolling new courses this week.
