Christmas - November 2007

I need ideas for wat to get my boyfriend for Christmas. He's 16... doesn't do sports but plays the guitar. He's already got clothes which cancels out my original idea.
He's said stuff about how hes lost most of his guitar picks... so are there some special guitar picks out there that he would love?

and does anyone have any other ideas?

My son is a sophmore in high school and already has a cell, new car, PSP, iPod, TV in his room, laptop (although he really could use a new one), PS I, II and III. I just don't know what kids his age want? He loves basketball, music and of course girls!

So many people are willing to embrace the time off work, the gifts, the parties, even the good cheer and general joy of the season, but why is it so bad for stores to say Merry Christmas? Why and how could people be offended? I’m not Jewish, but I will gladly share a “Happy Hanukkah” with those that are. Are people threatened by such a harmless happy greeting?

I would like to just walk along that area to enjoy the christmas lights. but i wouldnt know where to go. Something like candy cane lane? I live in schaumburg...but dont know how far something like that would be.

My husband's mother always gets me clothing. Not only is it always the wrong size, but its always things that I wouldn't even dream of wearing, even if it was the correct size. My husband just emailed me and said that his mom wants to know my size so she can send more clothing for me. Its a tremendous waste of her money because I just give it away anyway. I want to tell her that I really don't need any clothes and that there are other things that I'd rather have if she wants to send a gift. She's not all together and I don't want to hurt her feelings. its not that I don't appreciate that she wants to send gifts for us and I don't wat to appear ungrateful, but it really is a waste of her money, which she doesn't have a lot of, to buy and ship things that I can't and won't wear.

Any suggestions on how to handle this and how to tell her without hurting her feelings?

Lined the outside peak of the house with lights but the extension cord is too heavy and is pulling the lights down. How do you plug in the lights without it pulling them down. The electrical socket is not at the top of the house it's near the bottom.

How do you hang lights around doors and windows. Do you use suction cups? Also how do you get a clean line of lights around all windows. Some people have their house perfectly outlined where there is no cross over of lights in places they shouldn't be. They perfectly outline every window and door without it looking sloppy.

I was out looking at christmas lights last night and drove by a house that had two lighted lawn decorations that were the S'more brand of christmas decorations. I would love to find out where I can buy these! I have searched the internet and all I can seem to find are the ornaments!! Does anyone know what I am talking about, has anyone seen them, does anyone know where I can get these?

I am having a family Xmas party to attend to this coming weekend, and every year my family does the "yankee swap".

My daughter loves them we have 8 on are front lawn as well as spot lights that give them extra lights. We also have usual lights on house and 3 snowmen and a raindeer on the lawn.
