I work at Wal-Mart, and I was kind of shocked when they started to send our Christmas trees and one of them happened to be pink. I personally would never spend money on a pink tree, but people that work with me said that they loved the idea. So my question is, would you ever consider buying a pink tree or prefer the traditional green tree? How would you decorate a pink Christmas tree anyways? Hmm...

my family is catholic, my cousin married a jewish lady, has 2 kids, Their both Jewish, its theire relegion.
Its been a tradition that me, mom and sis go to my Aunts house for christmas every year, buy and recieve presents from her, her husband, two wives and my two cousins.
Why should i buy presents for kids who are Jewish and dont beleive in Jesus? it seems fake.
Also my cousins wife always acts like she doesnt want to be there, she always makes faces and tries to pick a fight with me. My other cousin is distant and just hides with hise wife, whispering to his wife,,
Im 23 now and questioning all this, also i never see or hear from these people besides christmas.
Isnt it wrong to buy jewish people x-mas presents? why are they celebrating christmas with us.?
Also my Mom requires me to buy a present for each person, not from us as a family or to a couple, Example i have to buy a present for cousin and also his wife,
I think my mom, me and sis should have our own familu x-mas, Agreee?

like listen to music. find decorations that are in the stores that you like, buy ingredients for baking, find movies that you want to watch.

I am just wondering because, some people only can do it maybe once a week then when the holidays actually come, they have to shop and wrap, bake, and decorate ( not in that order0

Well we all decided to have Christmas at my house. Our house isnt very big but it is in the center from where everyone else lives so its conveinent. We are celebrating it before X-mas so the kids can enjoy their gifts on X-mas. My question is does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish the party without everyone feeling cramped also any ideas on decorations (maybe cheap or homemade) that can be put up to make it look beautiful. And any food ideas would be great!! Thanks so much in advance for all of your help.

This is the time of year I would hope that people think of those less fortunate, or think of making a donation to Sick Kids Hospitals and to charities which look for cures to all these horrible diseases out there.

I really hope that people think about what they can do in their schools, in their workplaces and as individuals to do something nice for humanity this season.

As a mother who's child was touched with cancer, you cannot begin to imagine what it's like--you think you can, I thought I did too, but you dont until you're there , and I hope and pray you never find out.

If you came to know these children you could never walk away. They do not deserve that.

Whatever the charity please give, as so many people are in need of food, shelter and certain we need to cure these children and support these families and their siblings too.

I just wanted to know how others felt about this and if you support any charities what it is you do if you don't mind sharing!

THey want to do this so as not to offend any immigrants.
Should they just ask all British to leave the country and hand our country over to them ? Then we cannot offend anyone !

I always thought that christmas decorations were put up 12 days before christmas, and taken down 12 days after and if you kept them up to long or put them up to early then it was bad luck?
Hence the 12 days of christmas?
only saying because lots of people put up their decorations way early...

What was actually suggested was to downgrade the religious aspect of the event, not banning it. This will not actually affect the meaning of the event for many people at all or the way they celebrate it.
The UK may nominally be a Christian country but what percentage of people are actually practising Christians (I bet the majorityof people shouting loudest about Christmas are not). Christmas was imposed by the Christian Church on a pagan popluation who celebrated a midwinter festival around mid December. Most Christian celebrations were placed over the top of existing pagan ones. So actually the celebration is December is actually a pagan celebration. Many of the traditions such as bringing evergreens into the home, eating an awful lot and giving gifts are straight out of the pagan midwinter celebration.

The reports say "Christmas should be downgraded unless other religious festivals are marked on an even footing, a Government think-tank has said". So rather than downgrade Xmas why not upgrade Eid, Yom Kippur, etc?

I went to a mixed faith school and remember being intensely annoyed that the Jewish kids got their own special time off as well as the days enjoyed by the whole country. I also remember asking my parents if I could become Jewish too for the extra benefit.

So I'm happy to celebrate anybody's festivals. Just make sure we all get the same time off. Anyone agree?

Why can't you just leave me alone to celebrate life how-ever I choose? I have never been to your house and told you to put up a tree, why do you come to my house and tell me you don't want to see it from the road?
