Yours is one of many questions on this topic today. It is time for the ordinary quiet man of Britain, to rise up, throw of his shackles and rid us of this corrupt, evil Government. These evil soviet-style Orwellian dictators should be shown no mercy.

well my boss is Jewish & has just had their new year, all the jewish staff were off (paid) for a week leaving the place short of staff.
the director is having his sons barmitzfa over the chrismas period in israel most of the jewish staff are going for 2 weeks(paid) again leaving us to work through our christmas holidays. we have been told that we cannot have our holidays over the christmas period. and any already prebooked holiday will be given but unpaid. and then paid for it in februarys pay.

A work colegue contacted his union and was told that ironicly they could only legally defend the public holidays (3 days) which have already been cleverly manipulated as some of the jewish staffs that are staying scheduled days off on the rota. but if it was the other way round and i was jewish they could defend most of the jewish celebrations as religios festivals for time off.

so if you ask me it needs upgrading, not downgrading

You mean a Government Stop Thinking Tank? I do not know how these people are chosen or what their terms of reference are but I would suggest that they are there just to test the water to see how much this lying treacherous thieving government can get away with

Yes it does, but possibly for different reasons. I do not agree with public and government organisations celebrating ANY religious or faith-based festival. I would like to see Xmas secularised, rather than joined by other religious mumbo-jumbo.

The 'Public Policy Research' is probably comprised on Non-Christian, minority members. It is just a wind up. There is no way that anyone can or will take this seriously. Is there.....?

Oh for **** sake this is just political correctness gone mad! If other races/religions want to come and inhabit the UK then they should respect and embrace it's culture! If their own cultures are so great then they should have stayed in their own countries!

IT IS BULLSH1T. Sorry, but come on.
Celebrating something in your own culture should not be offensive to anyone else.
If anyone is offended by Christmas, they should grow up and get a backbone.
