i love christmas, its just my absolute favorite time of year and after every thanksgiving, i cnt help but get excited. so typically, as the holidays roll around, im just automatically ready and spirited. to get me more in the holiday mood, i usually decorate around a couple days after thanksgiving. wht i do differently is i put up lights like icicle lights inside the house instead of outside, they are great, especially at night. its great to just be able to curl up on the coach in ur pj's with a nice cup of hot chocolate, and the lights to go with it. also to get me more into the mood i listen to christmas songs that come on the radio thanksgiving day straight through christmas, like walk 97.5 fm or 106.7 lite fm (of course these may b different depending on where u live). the only problem u probably are thinking of is tht the songs will get annoying. i cnt blame anyone for saying tht cuz they really do get annoying, thts y i listen in moderation. i usually listen while driving or cleaning the house, but the key is to definately listen in moderation. the last thing tht i do to get me more spirited is watch the 25 Days of Christmas, on ABC Family. they show holiday classics and holiday movies from december first, straight through christmas day...they show alot of the classic favorites like "Santa Clause is Comin' To Town," and "A Year Without A Santa Clause."

Merry Christmas!

I get into the Christmas spirit at 12:00 am on Black Friday because THAT'S when Christmas time starts. IT DOESN'T START BEFORE THANKSGIVING. I stay up on Thanksgiving night waiting for Black Friday to come. While I'm doing that, I pull my Santa hat out of my closet, and put it on at the stroke of midnight and go on YouTube to listen to The Chipmunk Song. Then I watch a video of the Chipettes version of All I Want For Christmas is You.

Well, first i put on my favorite Christmas music...then start decorating. I find that the more I decorate, the more in the spirit I become. I also love to bake traditional Christmas cookies...and of course sit and watch the snow fall.

I started to decorate the house early -- I know, know, it's not even December yet! But as I was decorating, I take the time to really appreciate all the ornaments and holiday trinkets I've had for years. Most of them were things my mother collected and she's passed them on to me since we have a house of our own to decorate. They bring back a lot of memories of Christmas holidays from years before, the excitement of waiting for Santa to arrive, holidays spent with loved ones who may not be around but are still loved and remembered. I usually try and get a playlist of holiday music ready and have that playing in the background as I start setting things up. Then it really feels like Christmas.

For me, Christmas isn't just about the birth of Christ and presents and hanging out with my family.... it's about my BIRTHDAY!!!!! Which is exactly two weeks before Christmas! That always pumps me up for the holiday season. Right now, I'm having my husband buy some pretty white lights to put on the outside of the house (tastefully, of course), and we will be putting our Christmas tree up this weekend. The lack of snow isn't stopping us... my daughter made little paper snowflakes and we taped them inside the window in the house.

My grandmother taught me a little holiday incence trick: in a pot of water brought to a rolling boil, add a couple of cinamon sticks, some orange peel, and a couple of apple slices. It smells like spiced apple cider throughout the house.

On my cell phone, I downloaded a Chrismas tree, and have the Grinch song (You're a mean one, Mister Grinch...) as my ringtone. I have Manheim Steamroller as my text message tone. I went as far as having the "All I Want For Christmas is my Two Front Teeth" as my answer tone (ringback tone).

My daughter and I always buy a couple of toys and donate them to the local womens' shelter. And wherever we see a Salvation Army Bellringer, I make sure my daughter puts a buck or two in... I think it teaches her to share and care.

Christmas always means birthday for me, and double the presents! So, yeah! I hope this helps!

I usually get into the xmas spirit by thinking of whom I can give to.
Giving back to people, animals environment is something to be happy about.
Spend some of what you earned and learned being human.
This year I am giving to my local SPCA and save the wolfs. When all this is gone our next generation will have nothing beautiful in their life to appreciate.
So, I am just going to give. I'am thankful.
Thats how I will get into the spirit.
What are you going to do to get into the xmas spirit?

Putting lights on the outside of the house, getting out all the decorations, buying new decorations, putting together my village display, hanging lighted garland throughout the house, getting scented pine cones and candles. Lighting everything or turning it all on, making a cup of hot chocolate and enjoying it all on the couch.

Nothing like the only lights being on in the house being Christmas ones.
