My Xboss whom I have had little contact with in the last 5 years mailed me an invite to a lrg party/charity event in which she will be honored. She also enclosed a card stating how much it would mean to her if she could see my partner and I there. She is also the head chair of this charity where she will be honored. The tickets are $75. I orginally thought that this was an exclusive event, but it is a public event held at a large venue. I have sent her a number of invites over the years to parties/events other FREE functions in which I would be hosting and she has never shown up or called. I also send her a chistmas card every year and she never has sent one in return.
I know that she has always been an ultra selfish person but I think this really takes the cake! She wants me and my partner to shell out $150 to go to an awards event that she prob voted her self into?!? I feel guilty about it,so I sent a check to the charity and put on the memo that I was her friend. Thoughts?

It's my office mate. She's lazy, lies, plays hooky all the time (leaving me with a fast paced office to run on my own). She even cheated a family member of mine out of money (before I knew her). He said she charged him double what a door cost because his grandkids broke her door. She told me she broke her door once with a weed eater. She doesn't know I know about her dealings with my family member, we were just discussing weed eaters one day and she said it. Anyway, it's getting to where I can't even look at her much less be sociable. I'm afraid it will hurt my job. My office is very small. Only about 6 people work there. How can I tolerate her 8 hours a day?

I got my first invitation to a quinceanera from my friend. I'm really confused, because hers is going to be really fancy, and I don't know what will be appropriate to wear. I asked her what I should wear, and she says something near a gown. What does she mean?
I also don't know what to give her. I'm not sure of what's appropriate to give at a quinceanera party. Like I said, I have no clue what to do and it's my first time.
Please just tell me ANYTHING a guest needs to know when going to a quinceanera. Thanx!

I used to work at a very casual Japanese restaurant. Customers paid me first at the register, but I also brought them the food, was expected to bring them anything else they needed. I also cleaned up after them. I took pride in my ability was always polite. I did everything except chew the food, but because the sign said Japanese Fast Food, no one tipped. Was I shortchanged? Did they have a valid loophole or were they just being cheap?

I know I should think of something myself...but this is tricky. My Grandma is turning 89 and I don't know what kind of message to write in her card. She basically doesn't want to celebrate because she is sort of depressed about being old and in pain...but I want to cheer her up somehow. Ideas?

Since America is the richest country, you'd think the women would have the highest standards. Yesterday, at the gym, I saw an American white woman, wearing a gray tanktop and gray spandex pants (flared at the bottom), take off not only her shoes, but her socks as well. Even though the sign clearly says that everyone must have shoes on for sanitary reasons. She just had her bare feet on the floor (who knows what's on that floor), and began stretching. I looked at her balled-up socks and shoes. Coincidentally, her socks had the "USA" flag design on them. But what disgusted me were that her socks were sweaty (she had just got done working out), and the inside of her socks had dirt spots.

I thought American white women make themselves out to be "better" than everyone else yet she has dirty sweaty socks and can't follow the gym's instructions for hygeine/health reasons?

My family and I were invited to a special dinner. The company that invited us wants to remain private. The company wanted to give back to the community from their hearts with nothing in return. We enjoyed the dinner and the conversation. We learned things about the company we did not know before. I do not work for this company. There was a man sitting at our table that works for the company he was really nice, but unfortunately his wife was out of town and he was missing her. He told us he could not sleep at night until his wife returns home. We reassured the man his wife would be home before he knew it. A few weeks later I got a telephone call from a friend saying the man’s wife wanted to send my family and I a gift from her company. I received the gift three days later and it was beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes to know someone that didn’t even know me could be so kind. They were not asking for anything in return. How do I say thank? I have tried putting the word on paper, but the words don’t seem right. I am touch by their kindness. Someone help me come up with the right words.

We get a lot of other peoples' mail in our mailbox here. I know that mail deliverers are human and make mistakes, but this seriously happens ALL THE TIME. We always leave the misdirected mail in our mailbox, but we're worried that we're not getting all of OUR mail, too. Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do?

Ladies, would you be ok with your male roommate walking around the apt. naked?
If you lived with a male roommate, not a boyfriend who you spilt an two bedroom apartment with and split all costs with, would be ok if he would occasionally casually walk around nude?

For example walk from the bathroom to his room or on very hot days (we have no AC)

If you would be ok with it, would him having an occasional stiffy( i totally understand that sometimes men just get them for no reason especially in the morning) make you be not ok with it?
