Now is not the time to show your dislike ... you will create more of a stir by outright not giving anything because you don't like him. It's only a few dollars ... it doesn't mean that you like him, it just means that you are paying your respects to a human being.
Who knows, this may touch him, and people may start to like him. He may have been so unlikable if he was taking care of a dying parent, if that was the case.

Still throw in a dollar or 2. I had 2 ex co-workers die last year ( I don't work there anymore) & I didn't go to the services for the one I didn't care about. I didn't like him, didn't hate him).

Throw in a loonie or two - I'm sure there's worse ways you've spent a buck! No need to be extravagant, but you don't want to be "that guy" who never contributes. When you need a hand, there will no one there for you if you don't!

Put your share in - you never know when your opinion of that person will change. And bottom line - we are all related in some way, so just help take care of each other, we are all we have!

Tell them that you will be sending a card....Then pick up a simple card and write your sympathies in it...
It is the thought that counts...
*This person might change their ways..and attitude towards you...never know when you are going to need a friend!

I'd still contribute. The death of a someone's loved one isn't the time to hold grudges.

That happened to me yesterday. I didn't even know the employee, who works in a different building, but his son was killed and I gave $2. I felt bad for him, even though I didn't know him.
