Recently, one of our workers quit because she hated the job. My boss blames us and not only refuses to speak to us, but when she does, it is in a rude, condescending tone, almost as if we were children. She acts as if everything we say is wrong, and everything we do is wrong. I find myself constantly having to look over my shoulder to make sure she isn't breathing down my neck. Her boss, the department head, refuses to acknowledge the situation, and his boss, won't do anything until he does. It is very frustrating...how do you deal with a person like this??

The bottom line is, this is a grown woman who acts like a child. She is more than twice my age and is acting like, for lack of a better term, a spoiled brat in the playground. Any advice?? She is really ruining our work environment.

I know its bad but I love it when people make fun of certain obsese celebrities.
I'm a personal trainer and I would NEVER make fun of a fat person! But these few certain people are always fun to make wise cracks, parodies and stupid comments about; usually involving their weight.
I have nothing against Oprah or Star Jones
I don't like Rosie that much.
I Despise that cow Michael Moore though!
Is it bad to make funny yet sometimes crude remarks about these people?

I've noticed that when someone is given a gift, they will say to the giver, "Thank you for my bracelet!" whereas I have always thought it was correct to say, "Thank you for the bracelet!"

Which do you say, and why? Is either more polite than the other?

not everyone knows computer lingo or keeps up with all the latest techy toys and gadgets. When a person asks a question about such things, they r sure to get several sarcastic answers. I thought that was the purpose of this Q&A site. I am a mother, but I don`t have teenagers to ask what some of these terms mean and I don`t appreciate comments like, "wow, where have u been" or "what planet r u from."

Sometimes he talks to me about other girls so I don't think he's interested, but he has little nicknames for me, does that mean he likes me or sees me like a little sister? I don't know what to think. I dated someone in the workplace at a previous job, but I was advised it was a bad idea. What should I do? I most defenitly do not have the guts to ever say anything.

What i dont understand is how we can have so many people that think they have the right to be so much better than others. I dont understand that just because you have a newer home, or a nicer car you think you can do and say what you want? How some one can come to a neighboor in an ANGRY rage to tell them to rearange a parking system because its not convenient enough for them to speed UP and DOWN the street, can think thats ok! How can ONE neighboor complain and show so much dissrespect to ANOTHER who is widdowed and is elder with health problems? How can a neighboor be SO bitter, as to yell at EVERYONE about ANYTHING including parking or being with in an INCH of there property? What happend to the neighboors like the Cleavers? Was happend to all the kids playing baseball in the street, and playing tag. Now the subburbs are filled with bitter people all moving in different directions (summer camp, work, day care) , not giving a damn about eachother. What happeneed???? - Dan. M

I just got home from the airport, and was struck, yet again, at the savagery we go through and put each other through at the baggage claim. Standing 3-5 rows deep, right up to and even leaning over the edge of the baggage claim. When someone tries to grab a bag, or check to see if it's theirs, they get dragged down the carousel three or four people before they're able to flip it or pull it off, then they struggle to get out of the crowd with their bags.

Every airport, every flight, every time I see this.

Why can we not ALL stand 10-20 feet back, look at the bags to see if we recognize ours, and easily walk up to the carousel to pull it out without fighting a crowd at the same time?

Everyone, can see their bag, no one gets injured, less damage to bags, etc. Is this such a foreign concept?

my best friend and i were at a yard sale, looking for old audio reel-to-reel tapes. we found one that had the name of some obscure, now disbanded garage band. we gave a quarter for it. when we got back to my friends house, we were quite shocked to hear what sounded like elvis presley, singing and joking with the recording crew. we had it checked and rechecked, and it's authentic. an unedited, uncut, unreleased original recording of the king. our dillema is this. do we return it to the person who sold it to us, explaining what's on it, or sell it and live in the lap of luxury for the rest of our days?

Minneapolis just announced that cab companies can NOT refuse customers with use of alcohol or have a service animal. This particular cab company have refused service base on religious beliefs.

The cab company is hired by the city to provide a service. The cabs have exclusivity of this service for the city (no competition). They have the right to refuse people that pose a threat.

What do you think?

I have a co-worker who goes out of his way to bully people around while the boss is not around. He acts very unprofessional to co-workers. He will steal a client from another co-worker-we work in the HAIR/BARBER industry. He will cut down another co-workers work to get the client to come back into his chair causing the client to have doubt about their last haircut. He will give his business card to a client who has never been in the business or sat in his chair but has just recieved a cut from another cutter. He will stand over a 78 year old woman (who is a barber) and tell her it is his turn for a haircut when its not, to try and make it look like the other person is out of turn for receiving clients-thus trying to jump ahead of him. He is arrogant, money hungry and greedy. He once bought flowers for all the woman in the shop. Rather then let the clients notice his good deed, he has to point out to clients "see what a nice guy I am, I bought all the ladies flowers today". Please help!
