don't sit down at a table with strangers
be polite and say please and thank you to the bartender
if you want to be nice, leave him a tip- one pound or enough for a drink
don't force conversation on anybody. people don't go to pubs to meet people they don't know.
if you want to talk to someone, offer to buy them a drink
don't ever critisize a drink you've tasted- you'll propably offend someone

A public house, usually known as a pub, is a drinking establishment found mainly in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries influenced by British culture. A pub which offers lodging may be called an inn or hostelry. In Australia, pubs often bear the name of "Hotel", even though most of them no longer offer lodging.

An Englishman, a Scotsman and an Irishman are bending the elbow, so to speak. All at once, flies land in each one of their drinks. The Englishman is so disgusted he goes to complain to the publican. The Scotsman fishes out the insect and continues drinking. The Irishman squeezes the little bugger and screams "SPIT IT OUT! SPIT IT OUT!"

I am guessing you are going to England and/or Scotland on vacation. For your own sake, do not order half-pints. My first time in London, I went with my father. He kept ordering half-pints so he could sample different beers and ales. The bartenders always gave him looks like he was either a girly-man or a teenager trying his first beer.

drink, laugh, drink some more, laugh some more, watch two ignorant people get into a fight, drink some more and have a good time. this is proper etiquette for all bars, clubs, pubs, joints and all other gathering places where you have to be of legal age to drink.

1. Buy at least seven drinks.

2. Don't get drunk.

3. If you do get drunk, be very polite, so nobody will be able to tell you're drunk.
