People who give these sarcastic answers are ignoring the spirit of this site. Maybe by the time they're all thirty they'll have grown up. I know what you mean though, being the teen, everyone in the family always asks me the tech questions.

When my kids turned 15 or 16. I did not accompany them into the examination room because at that age they not may discuss or disclose things in front of me, that they would otherwise tell the doctor. The first few times I did this, the nurse asked me, are you sure you don't want to come in? that was a pretty strong hint that other parents insist. Quality medical care is not available to all people and some parents are not educated as to how to protect children from mostly relatives against abuse. The education has been increasing, but people will think, no this is only immigrant families or no this doesn't happen to our people. No different than not using car seats for toddlers. I knew my children were a bit waterproof when they told their piano teacher to stop slapping their hands when they made a mistake. The piano teacher had thought that we were raising our children as if we were in the old country, not in America.

I hear ya, don't take it personal, more often then not, people will be rude. You can search the net to, as much of the lingo is on there. Type in Internet slang, several sites will come up, or type in "what is....." most of the time you will get your answer, that is what I did before Y!A. I am well over 30 & no kids.

Well, this is a question and answer site. If you don't know the computer lingo, then ask about it. I'm sure you'll get dozens of answers....and you'll learn alot about computer lingo.
And when it comes to age, it really depends on which section you are in. For example, I see nothing but teens in the singles and dating section.

I agree....isn't the point of this site to ask questions? And people who actually know the answer should answer in a respectful manner!!
Not everyone on this site is a teeny-booper. I am 32 and quite proud of it. I like offering advice and info to folks who need it. Actually i find most of the answers I recieve quite informative.
I don't care if the people are 10 or 65, as long as the answers are helpful.....then who cares!!!
Respect is key!!!

Teenagers (more specifically the punkish, smart mouth know-it-all ones) are ruining this site. Hell, they're ruining the Internet. Sorry you've been talked to this way. Have you been here long? If not, don't worry--the more questions you ask and answer, the thicker your skin will get. :)

Even though I know it is incorrect, I tend to get the impression that everyone here is under 30 because the avatars pretty much all look young.

Well they do think only younger people are net savvy. When you ask questions about behaviour of young people, the answers indicate their age. The language used is not to be taken personally. Just roll with them. They are not your children, you know.

You have to understand this is how they talk with each other. I wouldn't take any of this personnaly and think of it more of a time killer than actual resource. I have seen some kooky answers from 50 year olds too!
