I have some friends who own an RV and they always park it at Wal-Mart as they're travelling throughout the country. It's always a good idea to ask but they generally don't care as long as you park it out of the way (e.g., away from loading and unloading zones and not up front where the prime parking spaces are). Also, you might want to pick a 24 hour Wal-Mart (not all Wal-Marts are). The chance of them saying no is greater if it isn't a 24 hour Wal-Mart (they don't want people staying on their property when they're closed and no one else is there to look after the store).

I doubt that Wal Mart would give you permission to do that. You should find an RV park in the area or a rest area off a major highway.

The fact that you people know the intricacies of the Wal-Mart Overnight RV Parking Policy says a lot about you.

Actually Wal-Mart doesn't have much say. They would not be the ones to ticket or tow. Check the city to make sure there isn't some silly law that would not allow you to park there overnight in an RV. Everyone thinks that Wal-Mart owns the lot, but they just pay taxes on it. For example I pay taxes for my sidewalk and even the right-of-way on the street, but all are welcome to walk down it or drive on it.

In general, parking lots are for customers of the business. Assuming that it doesn't take you all night to shop, parking an RV there is not the expected use of the parking lot. Therefore, I think asking would be a good idea.

Wal-Mart used to allow overnight parking, but they no longer do. Find somewhere else to live.

It would be nice. I don't think they would turn you down but out of respect you should ask. Oh and uh,,,,don't dump anything on the lot.
