Q is for people who know etiquette...
My friend hadn't seen this person in a long time, but left me alone at our table for about 10 min. We're in our 30s and 40s so we should know what to do by now, right? Am I being too hard on my friend? It put a damper on our whole night!!!

After a bit of a discussion with my boyfriend about Baileys, I'd like to ask all the men out there why no men (or very few) seem to drink Baileys ever?
thanks!

Let's say you are out somewhere (restaurant, store, barber shop, wherever) and you see someone who looks vaguely familiar. He (or she) looks like someone you used to know, but you are not 100% sure. Do you talk to this person and run the risk of saying "Hi John Doe" to someone who isn't John Doe? Or do you see if he recognizes you first and hope that you don't look like a "snob" for seeing him and ignoring him? I never know what to do in this situation.

If a guy spends more than $ 200 on a date, is the woman obligated to give him something in return? If not, why not? And how much money would the guy have to spend before the woman would owe him some?

If I knew the deceased and her husband (actually knew her husband a little longer) but did not know her parents (she was only 26) and I am going to bring a card to the funeral, how should I address it? Too All, to just the Husband? Should I get 2? I really want to let the Husband know that I am there for him if he ever needs anything! I have known him a long time and he is now left with a 2 year old little girl to raise alone. Any suggestions....

i lived in a semi for 18 years without any major problems, until the owner of the house thru the wall to me decided to become a private landlord and put his home up for let to DSS tenants, then my nightmare began. I had 20 months of banging doors, slamming windows, parties, people throwing up outside my bedroom window, kids jumping up and down on furniture banging against the wall and my garden being used as a toilet for their children and pets. The noise started at 8 a.m, with kids shreiking and only stopped at 3 a.m., when the party ended, this happened six days a week. I tried talking to them, playing my music system louder than theirs, slammed doors and windows, just as they did,but to no avail.Complained to the Landlord and was told not to go to the police,as his tenants were travellers and they would target me. travellers being gypsies. I loathed going home, it was making me ill with worry. Finally, I put my home up for sale and moved away, further out into the country, happy at last.

My wedding isn't until November, but I'm worried about inviting my co-workers. They are ALL women who sit around doing paperwork. I like each of them and they could bring some fun to the night, but they are also very gossipy and "cat-ish".

For example, my one co-worker who I take lunch with daily and is a good friend, has had a lot of issues with the office, especially with one woman, who I like only superficially. My friend was basically alienated/harassed into a different area in our department.

I'd like to invite everyone, but it's going to be a small, cheap wedding and I don't want to come back from my honeymoon to hear everyone's been gossiping or ridiculing the reception or my family. In the past, they've done it. Also, I don't want to deal with the tension it would bring having my friend and the rest of the office together outside the work place. I'm going to be stressed enough.

Should I just invite the couple of co-workers that I'm close to or everyone?

For example, Names. I met a few people last night while I was out, but even though they told me their names, I can't remember what they were.

I find this minutes after meeting people. Their name goes in one ear and out the other. I feel embarrassed to ask again, since I obviously wasn't listening in the first place.
