I was driving home last night and got off the freeway and into the city (SF) and saw a homeless guy in the middle of the street...he was walking up to the cars that were stopped at the light and was asking for change, etc. Anyway, I rolled down my window and gave him an extra gatorade that I had with me. A cop pulls up next to me and gets on his loudspeaker and tells the homeless guy to get out of the street or he'll cite him and then yells at me on the speaker for "encouraging them while he's trying to keep them safe and on the sidewalk". Right. Anyway, I felt like flipping the cop off and wondered what would have happened. If anything...

Men need the seat up, women need it down. Men don't nag women if they leave the toilet seat down but women nag men if they leave the seat up. Why?

I have a overweight co-worker in her late 40's who outwardly admits that she does not wear panties.......EVER!!!!! I originally felt that it was her own personal business, and this had no affect on me UNTIL we had some breezey days and she flashed the men and women in the office.......on a few occassions. Why won't she wear some doggone panties, boy shorts, bloomers, boxers, something???

Obviously, if you receive a formal letter, you would expect decent grammar and spelling. On a site like this, why would you worry whether the spelling is correct.

So many people on here ignore the fact that a questioners intent and meaning is clear, and focus instead on the spelling.

Do people think that by insulting or correcting others that they some power or superiority or something?

That is my best guess. Some vain attempt at appearing smart?

Working with the public means I'm in contact with the upper and lower classes. Children and adults - young and old. I like this, yet I find a large majority just DOES NOT LISTEN. They are so keen to make their points - to intervene, appear grand or intimidating, it's sad… Their ignorance and impatience is sad. For God's sake, doesn't anyone listen these days?

A while back I posted a question of what to do with this lady in my apartment building who has been harrassing and bullying my kids to the point where they feel uncomfortable outside. I did complain to the building manager with a written complaint. Since that incident I refused to believe that one of the managers could be taking sides. It's his job and should never be. He is really one sided with the trouble maker and I believe he is doing things to make life harder on my family. Lately I have people banging on my fire escape in the middle of the night, my buzzer to let people into the building has been disconnected and the complaints I have about getting things fixed in my apartments are going unattended. I need a bucket to flush my toilet. Any suggestions? We are house hunting but I need peace of mind until we do move.

i live in arlington, virginia, just outside washington, dc, and i'd venture to say that washington, dc would have to rank at the top of the list. it's not a warm and fuzzy place like nashvillle, tennessee, where i went to college.

My lover (he is a man now) would like to become a woman. I am not sure if I feel morally comfortable with this. I started dating a man, and I am a man. So we share a special bond that not many understand. Now Gabe wants to become a woman. We have talked about it, but I have a hard time accepting it. Is it wrong for a person to do this, and expect the other to still love them the same?
