Men need the seat up, women need it down. Men don't nag women if they leave the toilet seat down but women nag men if they leave the seat up. Why?

Because a womans main goal in life, wheather she knows it or not, is to change us men. We have to change our habits to accomidate them. Thats just how it goes and I'll bet theres alot of married guys out there who agree with me.
You mean that women can't look down before they sit? If a guy fell in he would learn from it and always look down first. If a woman falls in it's our fault and we have to change.

Surely it is as much effort for men to put the seat down as it is for women to put the seat up? And if people are falling in the toilet it is their own fault, they are adults who make their own mistakes, and if they dont check to see if the seat is down before they sit down, that is their fault - I would say the same to a man if they fell in the toilet.

you would nag if you went to sit on the loo and the seat was up have you ever tried to sit on the rim of the toilet,
when men go to the loo they are standing and dont need to sit down so why cant you just direct your self through the toilet hole with the lid up, the space is not that much smaller then when the lid is down.

Because we don't want to look at your drips...it disgusts us...and if we see them we feel compelled to clean the toilet before we go to the bathroom....and sometimes there's not enough time for that so we feel like we're sitting in filth...even though the seat is protecting us.
Also, it's just a good habbit to have in case someone comes over to your house and asks to use your bathroom....your woman will be embarassed if the guest goes into a bathroom that has the toilet seat up...for the same reasons as above.

In our house, it's not a matter of putting THAT seat down. We try to put the LID down to contain the germs. That way we BOTH to lift something, his is just 2 layers thick. I have read that there are many many germs that can come out of toilets and you are better off with the lid down too.

OK, it is because its just polite to do so and yeah a girl may sit down and find herself sitting in a pool of water and that's not nice and I know that for a fact because it has happened to me. And just to set the record straight to all you gals not all guys stand up to pee some sit down just like you gals do (yeah i do this) so yes even know I am not a gal I know exactly what it is like for gals and understand perfectly what they are all saying. So guys be a bit more sensitive to other people it only takes a second to put the seat down and can save a horrible accident in the middle of the night

I can't believe some of the womens responses here! Ok, you go to the toilet in the middle of the night and don't check if the seats down..... Is that our fault? No its not.
It's just polite.... so is it not polite to put the seat up when you finish?
Because of the germs.....that's why you are supposed to wash your hands before you leave the bathroom, trust me, the germs won't eat your hands off in the time it takes to take a pee, or a poo.
Women who complain about this, do complain too much and should appreciate all the attention they get from men.

I think women who say that are quite ignorant and lazy. Are they not capable of putting the seat down themselves? And why don't they look before they sit? No one ever complains to me about keeping the toilet seat up though because by default I just put it down afterwards, anyway.

because unless you have a clostomy bag men also need to sit on the toilet for a cr*p therefore 3 out of 4 things the toilet is used for are done sitting so it should be put down end of story

because the toilet looks cleaner with the seat down to get on their nerves put the lid down aswell as they will have to lift it when they need to go

its a strange one we do need the seat up and as for the "need to go in the middle of the night" excuse surely you would see that the seat was up and if it was dark then you should check to make sure its down cause if their is a man in your house you know that's it more than likely to be down,just an excuse to moan i think, and if the seat is down when we go we get moaned at for missing and getting it on the bloody seat cant win
