Why couldn't you wear it?

Black is classic, formal and classy looking, wear whatever you want to wear, it is up to you entirely, but I see nothing wrong with that. I wear black all the time, and it is not a sign of disrespect, it is a sign of being classy and elegant. If you are really stressed about it, why not check with the bride first.

Wearing black to a wedding suggests the wearer does not approve. Weddings are festive occassions. If you can afford, or even borrow, a bright and cheerful coloured oufit, it is suggested. We all know weddings can be a financial burden on all parties.

I really like long skirts. My bf prefers the short ones. So my wardrobe is crammed w/ 1/2 and 1/2.

please don't wear that, rather wear white skirt, white jacket and any other color shirt except for black, please. Try pink, or light blue or beige, or different shades of browns or light green but not black to a wedding....no-no-no! and whichever color shirt you choose, carry the same bag color....
