i live in arlington, virginia, just outside washington, dc, and i'd venture to say that washington, dc would have to rank at the top of the list. it's not a warm and fuzzy place like nashvillle, tennessee, where i went to college.

Wow, as I read your question I was thinking just about anywhere in Northeastern Virginia. Ashburn, Sterling, Reston, Fairfax, Chantilly, Dulles, Great Falls, Falls Church, Alexandria, Arlington. Most of the people here are transient rich ******* that think they are so much better than everyone with their Mcmansions and BMW's. What ever happened to modesty and kindness? NOVA sux.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin....I have lived here my whole life and travel a lot and can honestly say Milwaukee or any where in Wisconsin for that matter, lots of bigots even though its a northern state and the police dept is so corrupt it makes the New Orleans PD look like Boyscouts! New good food places and not much to do for entertainment. If it wasn't for a few family obligations I would be out of here!

I've been in most of the USA states. It seems that people are friendliest in the South from the Carolinas to Texas. In the Northeast, it is difficult to become acquainted. Boston is worst for it in my experience. In New York City, if someone is friendly, watch your back. I've never seen so many hustlers. A taxi driver started off the wrong way, and he surely would've gone all over town if I hadn't known how to reach my destination. In Boston, I only talked to hotel personnel and bartenders. Even hustlers left me alone.
