The boss and another employee are yelling at eachother over some email problem. Is that normal? can't they just talk about it? They are both guys or I'd mention PMS.

Does my male co-worker think that the females in the office are supposed to continually help him and buy him lunch, etc. We are a caring group of child welfare case managers and it is our nature to want to help someone who is struggling. But enough is enough. What does he do with his money? Even when he orders lunch with us. If we all are supposed to put in $5.41. He will put in $5.00 and say that is all he has. So, he feels like the .41 is no big deal and he is not paying tax or delivery either? Today, I told him that he would just be hungry and I cancelled his order. Why do I feel bad? He is a grown man.

I work in an office environment with 4200 employees. I have noticed that upon meeting a new person through projects, meetings, etc. that there appears to be a period through which it is acceptable for me to acknowledge the other when passing but that generally within a short time after the particular shared project or association ends most people will begin to ignore such acknowledgements. Is there an etiquette related to this that I am violating by still attempting to nod at these people when we pass in the hall? What is the acceptable time limit?

i can't tell you how many times someone pops off an answer without even reading the whole question its like they think they are psychic or something and can read the mind of the asker....to me that are dimwits who shouldn't even be on here otherwise their answers are liable to hurt someone.

I've always assumed they'd think it was corny, esp. if you've only been on a few dates and they get sent to his work, or maybe it depends on the age/maturity of the guy in question.

On more than one occasion I have been disturbed by children crawling around, yelling, and making a ruckus inside a restaurant. Parents seldom discipline their children anyway, and let them do as they please. It seems fair that those of us who don't have children should be allowed to enjoy the meal with few distractions. Am I being unreasonable?

My daughter will have her sixth birthday party on Saturday. We are having it here at our house in the backyard (cookout). I am alarmed to realize that the majority of the parents plan on staying, and bringing toddlers! Because we have a pool, and it is NOT a pool party, I am concerned about the small children around the pool. There is just no way I can safely keep track of the siblings, and it is also an inconvenience because I was not planning on providing meals for eleven parents and eight siblings of the invitees! How do I graciously get myself out of this mess? I am amazed at how rude and PRESUMPTUOUS people can be! When my children were toddlers, and they were invited to a party, I would ask the parent hosting if they minded if I stayed to help out. I did not bring the siblings, and this way, when the kids were very young, there were more eyes to watch them. I also never ate. Is it wrong to think that at six years old, the parents should not assume they were invited, as well?

it's one of my biggest pet peeves.....when I'm standing in line at a grocery store, post office, wherever, and someone stands sooooo close to me, even though there is no need (like, if we are the only people in line). Does this bother you too?

I am pregnant with my second child. My little boy is 4 1/2 years old and I am almost 5 months pregnant. My dads wife is throwing me a baby shower and I am afriad to invite my in-laws because they made a comment about how rude it is to have another one. I did not ask to have another shower but it would be great. I find out in a few weeks if its a boy or a girl and if its a girl then I am definatly going to need to have a shower. My thoughts are to just enjoy my shower without them. It will be five years since I had my son and I think that is long enough to have another shower. Please help me, I have to deal with enough from my in-laws and this is just one more thing for them to hate me for.

We have a pool, and I have a neighbor that constantly calls to ask, "What are you doing today?" Which is inevitably followed by, " We were wanting to come swim and wanted to be sure you would be home." Well, what if I am going to be home, and just don't care to have company with kids? What if I want to bask in the sun with my top off, or skinny dip? Am I the rude one? Sometimes I lie and say I have a busy day with a lot to do, but then you have to hide in the house. What if I just want to relax in my own pool without company? Should I let them come swim if I am home?
