I've always assumed they'd think it was corny, esp. if you've only been on a few dates and they get sent to his work, or maybe it depends on the age/maturity of the guy in question.

Great answers so far from all of you - Thx! Here's a bit more info: HE sent me flowers first and the card said "dinner in August?" (he lives in a different state but has a summer home near me), which I thought was a great way to ask for a date (it worked). I'm not sure where this will go, but I want to tell him (since I'm not good face2face with people I have only just met) that I had a great few times with him without having to send a card.
As for being picked on at work, he is the boss and I don't think anyone would OUTWARDLY pick on him for fear of being fired! :-)

My only basis for answering this question has been personal experience-my now-husband loved it when I sent flowers to him at work after dating only a few weeks. I sent what I considered a "masculine" bouquet of bird of paradise and twigs. A previous boyfriend hated when I sent him flowers, actually said it "embarassed him". Both men were approx. the same age when bouquets sent.

Ok, I have received flowers from a women. At first it was odd (B/c it had never happened) and I was kind of like "Why am I getting flowers?"It was strange, however, after thinking about who sent them to me I was happy. She was my gf. It showed me she was thinking and cared for me enough. She didn't do it to be funny or anything.
Now, my Dad did send me flowers on my b-day. The embarrasing part was he sent it to my work. I was thinking it was from an ex-girlfriend or something. LOL. I laughed as did all my co-workers. The girls thought it was nice but the guys were weirded out. All good.

Flowers aren't typically something your average straight guy appreciates .. its not so much emascualting as kind of irrelevant...
if your sendin them to his work, I suppose he could become the brunt of corny jokes too... nothing wrong with sending him a gift though something edible- or a card might be a more appropraite choice though..

Um, no I wouldn't feel like you cut off my reproductive organs. How would that come into your mind? You give me flowers, you just out-masculined me, I see. I wouldn't want to walk around all day with the flowers though.

If you give a man flowers- give him a single flower. It's feminine but not too feminine.
A single flower will remind him of you without feeling like being treated like a "sissy" if that's a correct terminology.
Me personally, I would think it sexy of a woman if she gave me a single flower- it's subtle.

This is a really great question! And I know my husband likes getting flowers sometimes. It lets him know I was thinking of him. :-)

I used to deliver flowers and I never met anybody who didn't like it even if they didn't like the sender.
