in a purse on the sidewalk? Along with the money was a driver's license of an 80 year old woman. Would you return it and keep the money, leaving the old woman without her money?

I would deliver it personally to her home address. Not a second thought.

Yes, I would have to return it. It's the right thing to do. But I might take it to the police station instead, so they can check into whether or not she just robbed the bank.

BUT, if the wallet were empty other than the cash, I would hold onto it for a few days, just to make sure no stories pop up on the news about missing money. If not, then I wouldn't have a problem keeping it.

After all, anyone who's walking around with an empty wall with $5,000 inside is up to something and probably DOESN'T need the money.

Five grand in an 80 year old's purse?

It would never EVER happen.

If I found something that an 80 year old might have, like $120.00, a checkbook, and credit cards, I wouldn't steal a cent.

But any nice old lady who carries around that kind of money and then "loses" it - well, she ain't no nice or innocent old lady. I'd take the cash and kick the purse into the sewer.

I'd return it just because it's the right thing to do, not because I thought Granny needed the money. Hell, anyone walking around with 5K in her wallet must have a lot more where that came from! Who knows, she might be very well off and let you have the 5 grand just for being honest.

Shyt, I would keep that money and her ID and Mapquest my way to her damn address off her driver's license. If she had five stacks in her purse, I could imagine what the hell kind of valuables she has in the house! Oh, and is it a name brand purse also?

OK I am going a different direction with the answer....

I WOULD NOT PICK UP THE PURSE thus i would not have to make a decision to do ANYTHING....I keep my life simple...I am focused on intimacy and passion at the moment and don't need any guilt getting IN MY WAY!

Party on....

I'd keep the money and ditch the purse, making sure all my finger prints and any incriminating evidence wasn't on it. I'd just burn the purse. A vacation is what i would spend the money on.

By all means return the money to the owner.

I would contact her and give her the money back....

If I found the cash all by itself with no purse, wallet, or identification, i'd keep the money figuring some drug dealer dropped a wad of cash and didn't even notice....

I have returned $5 when I found it, of course I'd return it. It is the right thing to do!
