You do not say what occassion this gift is for. Is it a wedding gift? Or a birthday present? Or what?

If it is the wedding gift (and no, the ring is not enough! It is traditional for the bride and groom to exchange gifts) then get something that will last like a nice piece of jewelry. If it is a gift for another occassion, then buy her something from the wedding registry.

how about a gold chain with a pearl on it. then, each year you are together you can add a pearl.
i've always thought that was a nice idea. make sure the chain isn't too long. i hate long strands of pearls. it should fall just slightly below her neck. not a choker, but not a pendant!

or if you have the bucks to spend, then feel free to get her the whole strand now!!!!

pearls would make most brides feel elegant and mature.

or you could do something simple, like a poem or story about the two of you.
you could write down your future hopes and dreams for your marriage.
you could list all the wonderful things you love about her...

of course, if you are writing your gift, then presentation is everything. make sure it is presented well and is something for her to keep over time.

or you could scrapbook together your past. if you've been together for a while then, scrapbook together tons of pics from the past and write little notes about the pictures!

congrats and i wish you laughter and happiness in your marriage.

It must be very personal and something that will last the rest of your lives - like you expect your marriage to last. It doesn't have to be expensive, but there must be some sentimental attachment.

Specific suggestions: Jewelry is always good. Buy what she likes best - rings, necklaces, pins, earrings, etc. If she has a favorite color or gemstone, make sure it includes that. There are also lots of places that engrave pictures on gold. You could get your engagement picture put into a locket.

Memories also last a lifetime. If there is something memorable that you could do together, that would be good. Has she ever wanted to do something special or go somewhere specific? You could arrange to make that happen.

Whatever the gift is, make it unique, personal, and long-lasting. DO NOT buy her lingerie. That's for you, not her!

The gift to your bride should be something that shows your love and appreciation for her. Make it something personal that she likes....tickets to a concert, a day at the day spa, a gift certificate to her favorite store....something that is specifically for her. Here in Texas we have James Avery, a jewelry craftsman. A great personal sentiment would be to start a charm bracelet for her....buy the bracelet with a wedding charm with the date engraved on the back. Every time you two celebrate something, buy a charm....Honeymoon, your first house together, your first car together, baby......it would be a great story that she could wear and then pass on.

it depends on what she likes and what you can afford.

you can order a beautiful heart keyring from Tiffany's at a pretty reasonable price. anything from Tiffany's is a good choice if she is into fashion or jewelry.

if you have a picture from when you were first dating you could have it enlarged and put into a nice frame.

think about the things that the two of you have done since you have been together and get a gift that relates to that.

whatever you give her send it with a dozen red roses and have it delivered the day of the wedding.

i think it is sweet that you are actually putting some thought into this. you are going to be a good husband. god bless you both.

If you can think of something semtimental to surprise her on her wedding day, that would be great!

Examples: Fly a best friend in for the wedding she isn't expecting, play a song that's special for you guys as she walks down the aisle, have the wedding night room filled with some of her favorite flowers.

It doesn't have to be very expensive like what I said, but those were things I've heard guys do before for their brides. hope it helps!

boy, you got a lot of answers on this one and I didn't read through all of them but when I got married my husband gave me the sweetest gift (at least I thought).

The morning of the wedding, he & the groomsmen stopped by my parents house (where I was getting ready). He hid in the car with is jacket over his head (in case I was outside getting pictures). But the gift was a handwritten note from him, just expressing his feelings and how he couldn't wait to marry me...I thought this was the sweetest gift especially since he is not the type to write notes or letters... I knew he put much thought into this and it doesn't cost a dime!

Gift ideas? yes! Its your and her day! Save your money for another gift day! Let the gifts roll in from others! Maybe a small card to let her know how happy you are?
