Seriously people, using the term "African-American" when referring to Black people is politically incorrect. I have a Jamacian friend who really gets a kick out of that...he is black and certainly not African...so what the heck??

I have spanish as a second lunguage corse for highschool and I have never taken the class like i take the rest of mine (seriously)
when my teacher (who is white, not that it matters) called my mom and told me I was going to fail his class unless i pass the final exam
my mom was very upset. when she asked my why do i always slack off in his class i told her " I dont realy care about spanish the language is boring and hard to understand any way." also "i have little to no intrest in mexican culture so why would i want to learn spanish anyway?"
she looked at me as if i just called God an asshole. she and my dead dad lived in mexico for like 4 years and have a lot of mexican friends and speak it fluently, and became shocked that her son did not like it.
when i complained to my brother and friends they thought i was racist against mexicans!! i told them just because I dont care about their culture dosent mean im racist does it? i dont hate it i just dont care. what do you think?

civil rights leaders do it all the time,,,,, but if you point out racism from a minority group esp latinos or blacks they will call you a racist pig for generalizing,,,about THIER ignorance,

I asked a question about the racist mentality prevelanbt in the latino community towards whites(which there definatley is),,and all I got back was people calling me ignorant and racist with nothing interesting or factual

is it ignorant to call out the white community on thier ignorance,,,NO IT'S ACTUALLY PRAISED,,,so what is the deal here

Okay, I've heard so many people talk about the Samoan people and Tongan people...

My question is what are they, because I've never heard of samoans and tongans.... are they cool people or no?

Why are clothes being marketed to people in urban cities being named after monkeys and chimps? I, being a black male myself, wouldn't even buy anything named after primates.

.It did make the wonder what the reaction would be if they ran an add for a white only collage fund on public TV. I am not sure why but this add did hit a nerve with me. Can someone explain this to me. I really hope someone can explain in a way that will help me feel better about it when I see these ads.

I believe that economic level is a better predictor of someone’s behavior than race. We have lots of racial stereotypes but I do not believe they hold up. I do see very clear lines when you break people down by income level. Education does play a role but typically better educated people have higher incomes. Any stereotype based on race or economics is not going to be very accurate but of the two I think economics is the better predictor of the two.

First, I have a few black friends-- they're pretty preppy.

My city is in the bay area and is about 35-40% latino, 25-30% black, 20% asian. I've noticed that black men try to intimidate me a lot more than anyone else. I'm a pretty confident person and when I hold eyes with someone they typically look away first... and quickly at that. But many black men always look at me like they want to hurt me. I didn't do anything to them! It really bugs me that they try to intimidate people as if they are better than them and that they act as if they have no rules or respect for others. Even if I smile, I get the mug from them! What's up? When I raise kids, I'm thinking about moving to suburbia to get away from all of the ghettoness and poverty and unhappiness of this area!

I lived in a most upper-class white city in Washington state for 2 years, maybe 85% white, 8% asian, and in this city. I also served in the us army (very diverse) for 4 years and i've been around. Oh, I'm asian btw.
