You are placed in a body bag to control fluids during transfer. This is then placed in a cardboard "casket" with a plywood bottom for strength. The lid is also made of cardboard to fit this box. If you have a viewing prior to being cremated you are placed in a "rental" casket that gets reused for these purposes. You are then placed back in the cardboard container for the actual cremation. The laws are diffrent in every state regarding the practices surrounding the cremation but the standard as stated above is widely accepted by most organizations of Funeral Directors/Creamatory Operators

No. I believe the body is generally contained in a cardboard container for cremation purposes, but I could be wrong. It is definitely not cremated inside anything with metal hinges and varnish, like caskets have.

Yes, most crematories require the use of a cardboard cremation container, it is more sanitary that moving uncovered human remains and easier to slide it into the cremation retort. Not all require containers, but most do for health reasons. Also, for the people saying we sell them and then re-use them, you are wrong. That is illegal. If they purchased a casket, they are cremated with it.

I think they are taken OUT of the casket first....why would someone burn something and waste so much money?
The process is listed in detail on here. It's very fascinating, for some reason.

No. If you are being cremated you don't have or need a casket. They just put your body in the oven and...poof...ashes!!!

"no" your ether buried in a casket ( full body ) or cremated ( body placed in fire till turned to dust ) they usually place the remaining dust in a "small tin box" you can chose to keep or burie in a grave plot, then you don`t have to purchase an expensive casket.
