OKAY, the Chinese are good. Here's my 2 cents:
fireworks
wheelbarrow
compass
Spaghetti - Can you dig it?
first to discover iron casting
The first blast furnace
first to discover the rudder
Processed grain with bamboo machinery
They produced the first planetarium - No kidding
Invented paper and printing
The first to invent books and had book shops in every city by the end of the T'ang dynasty
Wine - Take that France.
Of course the worst thing they did: GUNPOWDER!!! It was used by the British to KILL THEM!!!!

One of the most impressive inventions of the Chinese, a thousand years ago, was the percussion drill (used to drill up to 3000 feet down for water). It was constructed of bamboo and stone (chipped into different shapes for different kinds of rock encountered). The same type device was used up until the last century or so. Also invented pasta, pizza, gunpowder, fancy fireworks, and acupuncture.

The 3 imprtant inventions that the Chinese made and gave to the WESTERN WORLD...was the paper manufacturing, Black powder and the last one : The noodles and Spaghetti...and introduction of rice.... The Chinese used these items many Centeries...before given to the WESTERN world...China never had a Patent office...so time made the name and address of the inventor to diasspear.

The first water pump was invented by the Chinese though it is unknown who invented it. It was done by pedals and chains pushing water up a shoot with wooden paddles. It was used for terraced rice crops on hillsides.
