It was by native people stating "it would please my family", "My culture will not die", etc, for Indian colleges or something.

I dunno how you feel about that, but I think it is in conflict. If I had that history, I would of course embrace it. At the same time technology will force you to learn new skills. (I'm in IT work.)

Wouldn't staying on the Rez limit social growth with your fellow man, and yet leaving jeopardize that unique identity?

PS, If this seems insensitive, I assure you I mean no offense, and offer heart and understanding.

I'm asian and just start dating an european guy. I found him smelly sometimes. I did buy him a perfume but it doesn't help much. I don't know how to tell him politely. Or it's OK to tell him directly?

My Swedish boyfriend and I plan to visit my boyfriend's family in Malmoe next summer. I'm an Asian and I have no clue about the family values of the Swedes. I asked my BF about it but he just told me to be who I am....which is not that helpful. I'm thinking about buying them gifts and dressing up neatly when I meet them. Will that please them? And how shall I act around them. I know Asian parents like timid and neat in-law. But what do the Swedes like? Any advice...please please please?

Has anyone got an answer as to why kids of today are so idle and selfish? Is it their parents fault for waiting on them hand and foot? Is it because this is a must have society, where kids demand, and get, everthing they want? Are we breeding a generation who won't be able to fend for themselves because they don't know how? Just out of interest, how much did you spend on your kids this Christmas?

ok, I'm confused myself. I do not know what to think of myself. u see, i was born in USA, thus I'm american citizen by birth :). my family is originally Egyptian, so I have a dual citizenship. I lived in both USA and Egypt. I speak good Arabic and English. I'm a Muslim and wear headscarf. I get along with Americans and have both American and Arabian friends as well as some Indians, Mexicans, Asians, Italians, u name it. Sometimes I love both countries, and sometimes I hate them both. When people ask me what am I, I say am an Egyptian with an American CITIZEN! I am curious to know what u think?Egyptian or American?
no hate msgs plz.... be nice

on Yahoo! Answers? Most of them can't frame questions correctly, they aren't clear, they're poor with their spelling and grammar... being Indian myself, I'm wondering: what is the general perception of such questions (and the people behind them)? Similarly, what is the general perception of Muslims over here, given the current West/Islam tension? (I'm not Muslim myself, just curious.) Are there people out here that don't answer such questions, or something like that? What if the person had a distinct foreign name but were articulate and flawless in spelling and grammar? In short, assuming most people here are Americans, are Americans "questionist"?

America follows the onedrop rule. If you are atleast 1/16 black, you are considered leagally black, so if you are atleast 1/16 white, are you considered leagally white? It confuses me. Shouldn't the onedrop rule apply to all races, and not just blacks? If it doesn't apply to whites, is it because there is a racial flaw in our government showing white supremecy? I ask this because I myself am bi-racial, and I want to know where I stand.

Another thing, Do you think that there should be a new racial category covering those who are of mixed descendant?

Please explain this to me.
Many a time have I been told or have heard that Asian men are bitter because they feel like most white women just aren't attracted to them. Does this make Asian men oblivious to white women nowadays? Do they not look at us just because they think we won't like them? Does a white girl have as much of a chance with an Asian as an Asian girl? Thanks.
