Irish- Scottish- English- Apache- German- Russian- American

Hum that's just too long for me. I'm going to stick with the American.

Frankly I don't care what a person is. If they call America home then they are American.

It's the residue of the widely-discredited identity politics of the late '70s. It entered the mainstream with the political correctness wave of the '90s.

i dont agree with it either, as most of the time we have to identify ourselves on records such as tests and other things, which i believe isnt necessary because it really doesnt matter or effect the outcome in anyway. i dont think it has anything to do with reparations btw. i think it shouldnt be continued because it just adds a separation for ethnic people and makes them seem as though theyre not "real" americans.

most of the "african"-americans are really haitian and ashamed to admit it. i have a lot of haitian friends who do that. it is also popular for these "people" to say that their ancestors were slaves and demand retribution. it's sad but true. Listen to Bill Cosby if you don't believe me... a real African-American has direct roots to any part of Africa and can have any color skin. African-American is not just a "black" thing - as "they" put it.

Because they want to be politcally correct. no body wants to offend anyone so "someone" made this up. I dont call my self caucasian american but if i was black or mexican and wanted to say mexican american because i was proud of my hertiage then who cares its not hurting anyone.

It's the white man's way of being politically correct. And they like to do nice surveys on job applications and school forms to do polls on types of people in their work place and school. So they can prove diversity.
