I'm asian and just start dating an european guy. I found him smelly sometimes. I did buy him a perfume but it doesn't help much. I don't know how to tell him politely. Or it's OK to tell him directly?

While it's considered rude to tell someone they stink, it's also rude to to be stinky in public. If you can see yourself dating this guy for a while, then say something to him privately.
Good Luck.

Now, smelling is something quite personal and has to do with one's own culture. I'm also part asian and I find some perfumes Western women are using quite offensive, as can some men's aftershaves be when you share some restricted space with them in a elevator for example.

You might want what his real body smell is when he's just out of a shower, and you gotta deal with that. If his smell is still repulsive to you, then I think you'd better break up, cuz you'll never, ever get used to that. We are still animal breed you know, and animals never question what their smelling sense tells 'em.

Since you're in a relationship with him, it means you have to be honest too. You can take the chance of telling him, but make sure you sit him down, and tell him nicely and quietly. Be nice. Say it in a kind voice. And look at him in his eyes. Don't be afraid.

If you don't have the courage to do this, you can get someone else to say it for you...

Or you can buy him the strongest perfume you can find... and put him in a bathtub with a lot of soap. Scrub well. And Good luck.

Westerners eat a lot of dairy food(milk, cheese etc) which can cause an odor that many Asians find odeous. You might want to alert your western friend about this. He can lay off the dairy for a few weeks and see.

Hi there - is he dirty and smelly or just clean and sweaty? Do you know what I mean. If he is unwashed and smelly you should get rid of him. If he is just sweaty he could be a real man who just needs a little reminder to get a better deoderant. Why not suggest a shower together? Cheers

I think that it is very rude to tell him anything even remotely close to that
WHy not offer to take a shower with him or something a bit more romantic.
p.s. putting perfume over sweat just makes it worse
