why do you say "americans" - if in 2050 whites are no longer a majority then who will the "americans" be - they'll be those people of color who now make up half the population - thats a pretty interesting slip (non-freudian but still interesting) - it seems like to you "the americans" are the white people - i certainly hope that in 2050 when the majority of people in america are not white .... i hope that when a question of fairness arises , in the law or elsewhere , that it will be handled using the same type of american ideals that got us this far - (dont miss the word "IDEALS" there - i know it isnt perfect but the spirit of the law in america is admirable, as is "the american dream"- even though there is still plenty of room for imporvement)i also hope that the people who are voted into office are the people who are best suited for the task at hand (whatever the times call for)

In most parts of the country, there still is a white majority. There are a few odd places, such as California, that have areas that aren't mainly white, but I honestly think some people exaggerate a lot on that end as well.
And no, not all of us "came from somewhere else." Don't forget the two percent of us that are of substantial or full Native ancestry. With some of the answers I've seen above, and the fact that these particular people will be teaching their children and grandchildren the same things they believe, I seriously doubt things will change enough by 2050.

Absolutely not. You seem to think that intolerance is the sole domain of white against black which is as far from the truth as it it is possible to be. Intolerance is rife between all of the various ethnic groups no matter what their colour and is often far more violent, there is intolerance between rich and poor as well. If you combine this with the hatred between the different religions, the interdenominational back stabbing within those religions and the way religious groups try to enforce their will on the community as a whole you have a recipe for mistrust and intolerance that will still be brewing two hundred years from now.

Honest answer - In 2050 I think all people will be more tolerant. But I don't think it will be because of the color of people's skin.
I believe that by then this prophecy will have become reality: "...For out of Zion law will go firth, and the word of Jehovah out of Jerusalem. And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:3,4
This prophecy is quoted (and depicted as a statue) in front of the United Nations building. But the United Nations is not living up to this motto.
People will only really be tolerant when they live up to these words: "I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves."
It is my fervent hope and belief that by the year 2050 this will be a reality.

Where have you been? in a cave? that's already happened!
We as Americans are all in the same 'boat' sweetie, and if your end of the boat starts sinking you can bet there will be some Americans with buckets bailing water to save your booty so the boat doesn't sink!
You don't understand what being an American is. We all came from somewhere and are blessed to be here and have each other, because when crap hits the fan 99% of us will be there for you. Convince me that in your heart you DON'T know this, whether you are black, white, tan, or olive skinned!

Yes I do...I can not wait till the day the descendant from the continent of Africa are in charge... Then we can live in perfect harmony, just like the current Africa... We will have wonderful leaders such as Robert Mugabe to show what true tolerance is all about...Maybe if he is still around, you could be on his cabinet and speak to his peaceful ways...I think with such influences we could really turn on government around too. Pick any of African nations as role models.
Give me a break you do not know just how good you have it.. Stop being a victim and get to work... This is truly the land of opportunity for all those willing to try. Stop listening to al sharpton and jesse jackson telling how bad you have it... If you work hard, you will be rewared.

Do you know that white people are not the majority the world is mixed up into various cultures. You can say just because your white your a majority because that is not true. If you want to put color ratios there is more people in the world now who is not white as u put it and they are different such as asians, africans etc etc. Who knows by 2050 we be all together having a cup of tea with our relations from mars.

There already is a white minority. Do you think blacks who were never slaves will still be trying to get cash from whites who were never slave owners?
Do you think around December 2065 they might give it up?*
*that would be 200 years after the passage of the 13th Amendment.
I personally doubt it. Always easier to blame something better or try to tear it down than to pull yourself up.

No. Americans will always think that the USA is the best country in the world, and that Americans are the best people in the world. Even if Americans stop hating each other because of race, they will still discriminate against everyone else.

Whites get discriminated against as well. It's not a one way street. I think everyone should be tolerant of each other, not just one race.
