What is a "Samoan and Tongans"?

Okay, I've heard so many people talk about the Samoan people and Tongan people...

My question is what are they, because I've never heard of samoans and tongans.... are they cool people or no?

Samoans are from Samoa, and Tongans are from Tonga. Both contries are islands in the Pacific Ocean. If you are familiar with football, Eagles star Polamalu (the one with the long hair) is Samoan.

Heya well im samoan and when it comes to explaining where samoan and tongan people come from i have to totally agreed with Gen808 on this one..
You would be surprised how many pacific island people there are out there in the world...even famous one's depending where u come from lmao...
What are we? we are human's just like anyone else lol we are slightly darker... not too dark ...tan i say..then again there are alot of mixed cultures out there so u could never know that ur talking to someone of polynesian background lol
Most Samoan and Tongan people are cool it depends on wot mood u catch them in lol...

Samoans and Tongans are part of the polyneisan group there islands are located in the South Pacific...American Samoa is part of the US territories and Western Samoa is part of French polyneisa....Tonga is where Tongans come from...There are brown skin and large bone..Very nice people...I grew up in Hawaii and lot of different nationalities live there and these are two that are in the mix.... Samoans are people from the Pacific island of Samoa, and Tongans are people from the nearby island of Tonga (get a map!)

Samoa I think is a U.S. protectorate (like Puerto Rico). Samoan men can be really big beefy sumo-sized guys, but some are just average-sized. I met some in LA, they are really great laid-back people, fun to party with, and take a lot of pride in their culture.
One of the nicest people I ever met was Tongan - he did hospice care for my friend's dad when he was dying and sang a beautiful island song with his guitar for the funeral. Wonderful sweet kind person.

So, from my experience, yes they are very cool people, but don't insult them or they will squash you like a bug.

Let me correct any inaccuracies already posted about Samoa & Tonga.
The Kingdom of Tonga is an island nation in POLYNESIA. Samoa (formerly Western Samoa) is an independent state also in POLYNESIA.
ALSO American Samoa is totally separate from SAMOA & is a US territory in POLYNESIA.
POLYNESIA,of course, meaning the group of islands in the Central/South Pacific Ocean.
Personally, I think they both are really cool peoples. Of course, every race has their good & bad. But I have tons of friends/ family who are Samoan/Tongan & they're good people. Very similar to other Polynesians who are hospitable like Hawaiians w/ their aloha...

Umaga had some SICK and badass matches in his tenure in WWE. He had a match that was good with just about everybody! He had a awesome match with The Friday Night Delight, but, one really stood out to me and that was when he faced Kennedy on SmackDown. They had a great match and the ending was awesome.

I had two friends who were brothers who were Samoan, and they were very nice. Huge, but nice. The men of these two groups of people tend to be just amazingly large, both tall and stout.
