Ignorance and hate would be my answer. But, I challenge anyone who thinks that the holocaust never happened to walk through one of the 'death camps' in Germany like Dachau or Auschwitz in Poland or even the Holocaust museum in Washington, D.C. and then try to say it did not happen. I've been to all three places and it is an experience I will NEVER forget. The human suffering of the victims was so horrible. I hope and pray this does not ever happen again. Also, Schindler's List or The Pianist (with Adrian Brody) are pretty accurate accounts of what happened and can educate people more. In The Pianist the actually used photos taken during this time to try to create identical scenes in the movie. This is shown in the documentary part of the DVD...defiantly worth watching. Just my two sense....

People many times are ignorant when it comes to things so horrid. there are those who do it out of lack of education and others just don't want to admit that at some point basically the whole world didn't like Jews. A lot of people i know or heard about have been in the Holocaust. As horrid as this is there are those who go around writing their Phd essays or whatever they're called prooving that the Holocaust never happened. Ignorance leads to many problems....

Israel. That is why. After WWII, Israel was established as a homeland for the Jews, mostly because of the horror of the Holocaust. Thus, the Holocaust makes the state of Israel (somewhat) legitimate. People who feel Israel was stolen from the Muslims (among other people of the region) want to discredit their claim to the land. So, they say the whole Holocaust never happened.

I'm not sure. Sheer ignorance or the simple unwillingness to accept what is almost too inhuman to imagine. Even from a purely logical standpoint, there are so many eyewitness accounts, so many sites, so much evidence to back up the fact that it happened. I guess it's just hard to admit that something so horrible and barbaric could happen, that humanity could really sink that low, and kill someone because of their race, religion, or political standing. It's just hard to admit that something that shouldn't have ever happened, happened so recently.

Well there is a widely held belief in the middle east that if you accept the idea of the holocaust, it justifies the existence of the Jewish state of Israel. They tend to admit it happened but downplay it; something along the lines of "oh yeah it was bad, but bad things have happened to people all throughout history. It's not unique."

If it walks like a devil, talks like a devil and behaves like a devil, should you believe what IT says or through whom It says it?
Do you know there breakthrough Solomon Temple code-buster, a new book out that shows that the holocaust was a fulfillment of prophecy , reveals prophecies for all of Abraham's seed, and even traces Lost Tribes through D.N.A research? I got the information from another blogger on Yahoo Answers. Put in the search words Solomon's Temple .

This is extremely well document recent history with living witnesses still with us today. What interest does both Russia and the U.S. have in creating such a myth? Those two nations didn't even get along back then. It seems those that make that silly claim are mostly anti-Semitic or just won’t take the time to catch up on history. I suppose WWII didn’t happen too?

regardless of what others have said here it has absolutely nothing to do with ignorance.
It would be like saying that people reject that the American revolution happened out of ignorance.
These people have a set agenda. 100% of them hate the state of Israel and 95% are anti-semites or pro Nazi even if they dont want to admit it.
So if they admit the holocaust happend then it will conflict with their political idiological agenda.

Some believe that the Holocaust is a hoax which is the result of a deliberate Jewish conspiracy created to advance the interest of Jews at the expense of other peoples. Read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holocaust_denial
