Reverse racism is when racism is "turned around" upon those who usually practice it or have the traditional "right" to practice it. In plainer terms, in this country, it's when blacks or other nonwhites are favored over white people.

As a Black woman, I can't really recall any incident when I knew I was being preferred or favored due to reverse racism. However, I'll share with you a poem I wrote a few years ago.

DISCRIMINATION 2000

The woman
has been discriminated against
since time immemorial.

The American Indian
has been discriminated against
for 500 years.

The Black man
has been discriminated against
for 400 years.

The White man
has been discriminated against
for 30 years.

The White man can't take it anymore.

Wow...I can't believe how many people have no idea what reverse racism is. It's amazing how many people think reverse racism is when a black is racist against a white. Thats just plain outright RACISM.

Here's the correct answer: Shortly after the Civil Rights movement, Blacks still had a hard time getting into colleges, getting jobs, etc. The government went forward with "Affirmative Action" We'll use college for the example. Affirmative Action required that a certain percentage of the student body at any public school had to be black. It also mandated a certain percentage had to be hispanic, asian, etc. Because there were "quotas" for universities to fill, they began accepting minorities over better qualified whites in order to fill the quota and get the government funding. Since this discriminated against perfectly qualified white people, the law itself began to do the very thing it was trying to prevent. It was discriminating based on color. Inadvertantly it reversed the discrimantion. Since minorities were orignally discrimanted against, the policy now produced white people who were discrimated against because of the their color...and thus "reverse racism" or "reverse discrimantion".

Well, I hate the term "Reverse Racism," because a racist is a racist.
I think I have experienced it. When in junior high, a new club started called Alitas. I think its a national thing, and its for Latinas and it is for learning work and life skills and doing volunteer work. I went to the meeting, not knowing what it was. Boy, was I surprised to see that I was the only white person there! A girl told me what it really was and I was so upset about it. I went to the principal of my school to try to get a similar group for white disadvantaged girls to have these opportunities, and my application was denied. I was very angry and I have always felt race should not matter at all. You know how on surveys, standardized tests, etc, it always asks race? It makes me crazy we should stop classifying people by something they cant control

Possibly talking about reverse discrimination. Where a black female gets a job over a white male who has better and more qualifications just to meet a quota. Happened more in the 70's and 80's. Most companies had to have a token black on staff.

its a term that should never be used.
it exists on the logic that only white people can be racist. so when a black (normally a black person) is racist toward a white person it is reverse racism,

the reason why this term is bad is because the word racism is not defined by any certain races. and when an Asian and a Hispanic or a Black person and Indian have a fight due to their ethnic back-rounds, it is called racism. even though no white people were involved.

racism is hatred based on prejudice about a person's skin color, culture, or ethnicity/nationality. no where is any perticular race mentioned

Racism/Reversed racism none of it feels good. Yes I have experienced it from blacks but then I thought about how they must feel when it happens to them. I am nice to everyone of every race.

It happened when I worked for a black doctor, that had a black receptionist and was assisting a black patient at the front window and I knew the answer to her (the patients) question and she would not take my word for it and would not even look at me. It made me feel very bad.

Reverse racism is the concept where the majority are prejudiced by the minority, based on race. In reality, this is simply racism. Racism is not a one-way street. Anyone can be racist. It does not matter if you are black, white, yellow, green, etc. If you judge people based on the color of their skin, instead of by the content of their character, then you are being racist.

I am a white male. I have been prejudiced against, based on being white. Some think I...therefore...are smart, rich, hate black people, hate asians, hate latinos, cannot jump high, etc.
I don't like being prejuged. Nobody does.

you need to communicate the church bombings, the police beatings, and the lynchings that befell in the course of the twentieth century contained in the U.S. Or apartheid in South Africa or the discrimination adversarial to the untouchables in India. All of those featured severe stages of violence adversarial to the oppressed minority. And those communities were usually denied equivalent protection lower than the regulation and were unable to be represented in authorities. also it truly is sweet to describe that quotas or variety alternatives are a corrective coverage to shrink the effects of racism. at the same time as achieved wisely it will boost variety, with out discriminating adversarial to different communities. even with the actual incontrovertible reality that, some universities and employers do take it to an severe, that's opposite racism. it truly is undesirable, yet no longer as undesirable because the outright racism that exists in centred violence adversarial to somebody else in accordance to their ethnicity. So racism is the centred on of someone in accordance to their ethnicity. Racists ought to nicely be any coloration, while the perpetrators of opposite racism are virtually continually universities, governments or organizations.

to me and other white people that happen to be the minority in their community,,,this is the thing that really angers me

just because I'm white blacks and Latinos will automatically assume I feel that I'm better than them because I'm white,,,it sounds confusing and weird,,but it's soo true

so it's them calling me out as a racist and white supremacist before they even give me a chance,,,,,

I am expected to give them all the respect someone should deserve but in return as a white man,,,I can't really expect the same from them

racism is racism,,, the problem is a lot of white people have good hearts and are really trying to be patient and passive ,,but the assumptions and the double standards for ignorant behavior are out of control in some communities

TRUTH

oh, you know how when most people refer to racism in the U.S., they mean minorities discriminated by whites. well reverse racism is when minorities discriminate whites. oh and heres where the long controversy starts. many whites may wonder that it is unfair to be considered not as bad for a minority to discriminate a white person. but here is the reason, and im going to be frank, reread what im saying. a racist white person is more dangerous than a racist minority. look, in history, there were many times when a racist white person passed a law lowering a minority's rights, think about it, look it up, plenty of laws try to eliminate rights, did you know after slavery, whites created a law forcing afro-americans to work as servants or otherwise be auctioned off as a servant without pay? yes. how often has a racist minority passed a law like that? exactly. a racist minority is much less likely to make a law restricting rights because their not the majority and america votes on laws. understand? racist whites are worst because we know there dangerous and i think they should be out in jail. im sry if you think im biased, but i think im being fair and true
