id like to think god will save us or whatever but he didnt even take the time to save his own son! so why should I trust him and believe in him if he didnt do anything to keep his son from suffering so much?

I would be interested to know Christians thoughts on why they get hostility from atheists.

I have seen in the past, people accusing Christians of arrogance and of being interfering (praying for someone that hasn't asked for it).

But I would be very interested in Christians own thoughts on this matter, hopefully an interesting exercise in self analysis.

I really like the goddess Athena. Im having trouble finding something that represents Athena that would be a good tattoo to represent my subservience for her majesties beauty.

it says:"You shall have no other gods before me".
Doesn't this commandment clearly states that you shouldn't place other gods before the Biblical god in your priorities? It doesn't say you should't have other god or gods. It clearly says you can have other gods, provided you don't consider them more important than Jehovah. So it wouldn't be a problem at all to Him if you had some other gods AFTER Him instead.
You can even consider non-godly things more important than the Biblical god, for the commandment clearly used the word "gods", not making reference to other kind of beings or things.
Is this commandment as clearl to you as it is to me? or to you it still casts doubts?

Leviticus 12:6-7
And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or dove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest: Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an atonement for her.

The resurrection of Jesus and the second coming clearly says that he didn't die and he will be back according to Christian belief.
So doesn't it also mean he didn't technically die for you sins?
Doesn't that make you responsible for your own sins and not Jesus ie you are not guaranteed salvation

One of my aunt's is ALWAYS asking me for to borrow money when she's in town. She is 53 and on a fixed income and rarely has any money left by the middle of month. I know she doesn't pay that much for rent. She doesn't have a car or any extra bills. Just her rent, life insurance and utilities. She's not an alcoholic but she likes to buy beer for her and her friends. She also dips snuff (similar to tobacco for those who don't know) so that eats up some of her money.

She is honestly the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back, but what bothers me is that she EXPECTS people to give her money when she needs it. She has two adult sons who go in and out of prison so she can't get anything from them. But her, along with others in my family, seem to think that because I am married without kids and we both have decent paying jobs, that I have money to lend. I am the first she calls EVERYTIME she wants a beer, box of snuff or some extra pocket money.

either because of atheists' lack of belief in satan (the giver of temptation) or they don't care, or because christians feel more sensitive to those things, all of the above or neither?

"Man was made in his image."
what if "..In his image" doesn't mean his face or appendages.
Even if it does nothing changes.

At one time billions of years ago the earth, planets and the sun were all part of some nebulaic cloud. Enough mass gathered in one area and gravity took over and the sun burst to life. The planets didn't have enough so they became planets not stars ( Jupiter was close) then after billions more years here we are.

You can look in different Nebulae around the galaxy and seeing the same process taking place which says creation is a thing always being created.

The fact that the bible said man was from dust or whatever material any holy book says we are from is not wrong because we did in essence come from that material.
It just took a lot longer than some would choose to think.
Evolution doesn't discredit God at all. it's merely a much more grand process than you realize.

Or *cheers*? Often used in the Religion and Spirituality section... It seems to be used as sarcasm, but I'm not sure what it implies.

If you are one of the people that use this, explain why.
If you dislike the use of *drink* or *cheers* as an answer, also, please explain why.

Would you or do you look strangely at a lady who covers her head during Mass or Church service? I cover and am alone in my Parish except for a few elderly ladies and one or two who wear hats. I was wondering how others thought about this. LOL I think my family just thinks I like "Do-rags" and skirts.
Pax,
Debra
