The resurrection of Jesus and the second coming clearly says that he didn't die and he will be back according to Christian belief.
So doesn't it also mean he didn't technically die for you sins?
Doesn't that make you responsible for your own sins and not Jesus ie you are not guaranteed salvation

ok Dave, what if i had said he didnt die and was later 'risen' by God. Would that make it more logical?
The fact that he is alive throws away the claim that he 'died' for your sins. Thats how i see it

The Apostles creed:

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. AMEN.

Christ did die but death could not hold him. He overcame death and rose again from the dead. Jesus died for the sins of man so that we could be found guiltless before God. He is now in heaven with the father waiting for his Church.

Glory to God in the highest!

The Bible clearly states that He did die on the cross prior to sunset at which time there was a great earthquake that destroyed the temple and ripped the veil that concealed The Holy of Holies allowing us the opportunity to go to God directly through Jesus. It states He conquered death and rose in three days after which He walked among us for another forty before ascending into Heaven. There were over 500 sightings following the resurrection to verify that He truly did fulfill prophesy by destroying the temple and raising it again in three days. We are accountable for our sins; however, by acceptance of Christ as our Savior our sins are forgiven and we strive to be Christ-like and refrain from the sins of the flesh (which isn't an easy task). Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life. It is only through Him that we will receive salvation.

The gospel is the fact that Jesus died, was buried and rose again (resurrected) on the 3rd day. The fact that Jesus was the first born of the dead gives us hope that we too will someday resurrect for all eternity. Jesus resurrection in no way proves He didn't die. It proves just the opposite, that He did die, and had power over death. How does the 2nd coming prove that He didn't die?

He did die physically, and he defeated death. We are responsible for our own sins but we can't pay the price. That's the problem. The solution - Jesus stands in our place, having taken the punishment onto himself so that we can go free. Then we are given a new heart with new desires to (hopefully) keep us on the straight and narrow. That is the mark of salvation and yes, we can have it.

>> The resurrection of Jesus and the second coming clearly
>> says that he didn't die...

Faulty logic. He did die. Just because He was Resurrected doesn't' mean that He didn't die. In fact, it proves that He did die -- because, if He didn't die, then He wouldn't have needed to be Resurrected.

God bless.

sounds like some things have been taken out of context.
of course he died for our sins. he was born into this world of flesh and he died as flesh would die for us (read John 3:16) but risen again, so no he is no longer dead....he is and always will be the Alpha and Omega...
guaranteed salvation depends on you...your accepting Christ and being born again.

I do not know which bible version you got your info from but mine says he did die once for our sins and that is why the resurrection was needed. That he would appease justice for us in our stead because the wages of sin is death. Now if you refuse to believe it you can not recieve it. So throw that version out and get a better one my friend.

Yes He did die, but what u forget is He rose from the dead 3 nights & 3 days later.
He was seen by many before He ascended to heaven.
He is on the right hand of God.

He did die. Then He was resurrected. Unless He returns first, I will die, and eventually I will be resurrected. The fact of the resurrection does not mean that death never occurred, it means that death was defeated and overcome.

Jesus died and rose. This is the beauty of the resurrection. He couldnt have resurrected if He had never died.

Gods peace
