Many Catholics, Muslims and others believe in a mystical spirit which permeates all men and the environment. They call this supreme invisible entity, God! Yet there is no evidence to support such a belief, said to be force of good who created the locust of humanity, devouring all before it and destroying the Earth's natural resources.

The same people who believe in God then suggest that intelligent life on other planets, with their own Suns and natural resources is fantasy. According to them only humanity exists in the entire Universe and to suggest otherwise is sacrilege.

In the minds of these people God created Earth people singularly as a force of good in the world. Yet Earth people are destroying the rainforests, polluting the environment, slaughtering millions in wars motivated by religion and greed.

It is my belief that those who believe in God act as a barrier to change for good in society, allowing the abusing regimes of the world to continue their work unchallenged.

Revelation 1:1
A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place.

Jesus gave himself a revelation to show his slaves the things that must take place?

Why is it in the Bible it is never God gave the Father. Or Holy Spirit gave God. The Father is never refered to outside of being God yet Jesus and the holy spirit frequently are.

but hold back because you are afraid of the racist reactions you will get from SOME people on here, especially in the religion and spirituality section. I wanted to ask a question that I am unclear about in the Quran to see if anyone could shed light on the matter but think there's no point as the bulk of the answers will be full of Islamophobic hatred. Anyone else feel this way?

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

I am not asking about the economic development or any other factor , yea he might have done some good, But he supported mass executions of Innocent muslims, and pls dont try and argue by saying there have been other riots where muslims killed hindus or what ever , riots might have happened but no muslim cheif minister planned mass executions of hindu's when those riots took place both the parties were equally involved and usually the riot is started bcz of some dumb issue mostly started by some politician , but a murder of one innocent person cannot be be in anyway be justified by killing another innocent person.
So why would you support Narendra Modi even after doing this, he broke hell on the muslims, There are videos where his accomplices told how they killed innocent ppl just bcz they were muslims, how they ripped apart Ehsan Jafri piece by piece and burnt him alive and narendra modi didnt do anything rather then give time to finish of their dirty work. How cld U support sucha man

In both the Old and New Testaments, we see Joe Hovah condone (and even command, or commit personally) some pretty horrendous things:

*Infanticide (Exodus 12:29-30)
*Slavery (Exodus 21)
*Executing women for being VICTIMS of rape (Deut. 22:23-24)
*Genocide (most of the book of Joshua)
And on, and on.

These are all things that we, as moral and intelligent human beings, can pretty much unanimously agree are evil, wrong, and unconscionable, no matter what the circumstances. So, I ask you:

1.) If we mere humans know these things are wrong, why wouldn't an infinitely more wise and compassionate deity not also think so?

2.) How do we even RECOGNIZE these actions are wrong, to the point where we try to make excuses for God, if the bible is supposed to be the first, last, and only word on morality? Shouldn't the morality of these atrocities be somehow self-evident?

My roommate with dimples wants to cuddle with me later while we watch a re-run of Perry Mason. He's medium height and straight but I'm having my doubts since he has now asked to cuddle in front of our shared 42" flat screen.

Could he be gay? Oh, he now has another blue tee-shirt , a HURLEY one.

I am just sharing this little joke with my friends on Seniors. Please don't SPREAD it about.
I bought, him indoors, a lovely little spreading knife and some chocolate from Anne Summers. He had taken the knife out of the packaging and put the chocolate......God knows where! Christmas Day he couldn't find the chocolate anywhere! So, he came up with the bright idea of melting down bits
of a Cadbury bar that we had in the fridge.
Only problem was it was a bar of Cadburys with Crunchie bits!!! Ouch!

P.S. 13.30 hrs Boxing Day. Still haven't found the Choccy!

I don't fully understand how Jesus suffering and dying on the cross redeems humankind and offers us salvation.

Wouldn't simply following Jesus' teachings, and believing that He is divine and God incarnate be enough for salvation?

Why do we need a horrible act of torture, violence, and murder to be saved or have our sins forgiven?

Could it be that early Christians made up this idea in order to reconcile what had been done to Jesus?

I believe that Jesus Christ is divine. He was God. I believe in a full, physical Ressurection. But I sometimes have trouble with the idea that his suffering and death bring about our forgiveness.

Before you all jump down my throat I'd just like to say I'm not addressing all of you. I know many religious people are good, kind & welcoming, & I believe that's what religion is supposed to be about. Loving yourself, your neighbor, & ultimately trying to make the world a better place. That's great, & I wish all religious people had the same ideas. I would even be religious if it was evident that's what you were all trying to achieve. However, just from looking at the GLBT board, religion appears to be a despicable thing that caters for equally despicable people. All we hear is how you hate us, how we sin, how we are going to hell, how we are intolerable, just because of who we love. Where in the bible, ANYWHERE, does it encourage the harassment and abuse of ANYONE? The fact you're more concerned with expressing your irrational hatred than loving your god makes a mockery of all you say you believe in. It's a joke. How can you possibly justify such narrow minded, brutish behavior????
