It is true that churches are a man made institution, but God wants us to fellowship with others like us. Humans are made to work as a team, and the church is the human team that gets God's work done on earth. Look at all the hospitals and colleges that various churches have put up throughout the world. These things could not have been done by a lone Christian. Also, it would be a good idea to go on and get baptized. We only have a couple of sacraments, and that is one of them.

Religion has elected its self the supreme earthly authority on two subjects that it knows absolutely nothing about, God and the afterlife. If we look at the various religions it is beyond obvious that they don’t agree about who God is. Nearly all of them claim to be the one and only correct path to God.
The one truth that remains constant is that the definition of God that they have come up with is little more than a mirror image of the particular set of biases and prejudices of the group the religion represent. Can this be just a coincidence?
With all of the various renderings of God by all of the different religions we can draw only a very few conclusions about God. Either God is a pathological liar who tries to be all things to all people or God is hopelessly schizophrenic. Personally I see too much beauty in the world to accept either of these conclusions.
To me it seems far more likely that religion is just a lie that people tell about God.
Lucky for us this lie we call religion does not effect the real God in any way.
Love and blessings Don

To relieve the guilt of there lives and to hope that going through the motions will null and void all the wrong they do during the week. Then they give each other the finger racing out of the parking lot because the game has already started because the a.ss. hole priest had a long sermon. They will be back next week to do the same unless their team has a late game
Why does Mary Redshirt have such a nasty face while she preaches religion at 22 with a kid .She changed the rules to fit her slutty life also. She should change her name to Mary RedA.ss

To have so many people under one roof believing in the same thing all there to pray to the same thing is sort of empowering if you know what I mean! when I went to church...along time ago, I always left there with strong feelings...good feelings but strong, it's the togetherness and the vibes that are in that chruch that draw people to it, it's a good thing by all means, but creepy for me at the same time, I can't explain it well but I was raised in a strong Catholic home and when I was younger my parents allowed us to go to other churches with friends, Mormon, Baptist, the holy rollers LOL that was truly creepy!! but it's like they are all the same but different if that makes sense, I always thought if God exists he knows our dilemas in the religion department and he isn't going to damn anyone to hell for not going to church as long as you keep him in the most important place...your heart.

I go to church to learn more about the Bible. To meet other people with the same beliefs. However, the spirit of God is within me, every day. If I couldn't go to church, I would still have him.

don't you get together with people that you know that have interests similar to yours? That is the one of the reasons that people go to church to worship..they do it because they can enjoy the company of others that believe like they do,they can find support and a feeling of belonging. Its not so very different from being members of a club whose members go to a bowling alley to bowl, or a golf course to golf, or a health club to work out..all are gathering places of people with similar interests..Its true that you could bowl or golf or work out without going to a place made for those activities but it sure would not be as enjoyable...same with church,, you can worship alone without going to the building but it won't be as enjoyable ..(a party of one is no fun)

'Cause that's where the other Christians are at.
Going to the building entails worship as well as meeting together (like we're commanded to do).
Doesn't have to be a church building either. I church I used to belong to met in the park some Sunday mornings. A biker bar let us use their facilities some Sunday nites.
