Many Catholics, Muslims and others believe in a mystical spirit which permeates all men and the environment. They call this supreme invisible entity, God! Yet there is no evidence to support such a belief, said to be force of good who created the locust of humanity, devouring all before it and destroying the Earth's natural resources.

The same people who believe in God then suggest that intelligent life on other planets, with their own Suns and natural resources is fantasy. According to them only humanity exists in the entire Universe and to suggest otherwise is sacrilege.

In the minds of these people God created Earth people singularly as a force of good in the world. Yet Earth people are destroying the rainforests, polluting the environment, slaughtering millions in wars motivated by religion and greed.

It is my belief that those who believe in God act as a barrier to change for good in society, allowing the abusing regimes of the world to continue their work unchallenged.

I like the question, but difficult to answer. I look at it as, If there is a god, for eternity, why stop with us? Did he have a bad experience creating us that he got mad and bored and decided to not make any more?

So I take it you have not done any thing harmful to the earth or any one on it ?? Now even if there was other life in space some where would that change anything here . God stated that his son died for all and i believe if there was space people they might be included if need be . But I doubt there is because I'm sure we would know about it that is other than angels , and demons .

Yes, and I'll bet you dollars to donuts that mormons will skirt all around the issue, then lean on their many paid apologist's opinions----because they really don't quite know exactly WHAT their own church prefers to believe at any given moment..... considering, the beliefs change with each new LDS officially white oldest pope guy. The previous old white guy and what he claimed gets gently dismissed, and placed in the dusty vaults of time. Funny, the only one they've never done that with is Joseph Smith. If they shot him down, their entire religion would collapse around them. And that they would NEVER DARE do. If not, they claim its "deep doctrine". Forgetting that the Lord says numerous times throughout the bible that there is nothing hidden from those who seek after His heart. Oops. Joseph Smith taught, that.... Joseph Smith said this..... If he didn't say it, basically they don't believe it. He states in the pearl of great price (another cobbled together "translated" book of his, which turned out to be an Egyptian "Embalming for Dummies" treatise), that the mormon god physically lives on a planet/star (depending upon the mormon you're talking to) called Kolob with the wife (or wives, depending upon the mormon you're talking to) and kids. That's enough for them. Swallow. Now there's a good little robot! And they blindly expect us to just swallow this one whole, like they do, without tasting, without examining, forgetting everything the Lord said on the matter. That HE is Spirit. God defines Himself. NOT Joseph Smith defines God. "Please tell me these are all slanderous lies against THE LDS Church, and that they aren't real." Well, okey-dokey, then! Uh-huh. Sorry. I'm no longer mormon. I can no longer practice "lying for the Lord".

Because their religious leaders tell them that the earth was created in about a week some 6,000 years ago and that man was created in the image of god.

There is no room in their belief system for life on other planets.

If they believed that then they would be believing that humankind is nothing out of the ordinary. This to them would be heresy!

since the people who wrote the bible several thousand years ago, did not know much about the universe, and believed earth is all that is there, religious people today, who are stuck with the out of date writing in the bible, refuse to consider any thing which might put more doubt on the contents of this ancient book.

(ROMANS 1:20) For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable;

(1 PETER 3:18) Why, even Christ died once for all time concerning sins, a righteous [person] for unrighteous ones, that he might lead YOU to God, he being put to death in the flesh, but being made alive in the spirit.

If Jesus died once only, and his Father created the whole universe, and that would include aliens, just where does that leave the aliens in regards to having a saviour. they would not have one.
Ergo, there are no aliens.

Some people refuse to believe anything that is not written in their holy book. God didn't tell someone long ago to write it down and put it in a book so it must not be true.

because it says nothing about creating aliens in the bible and that's what they go by. They believe that if it's not in the bible, it can't be true. But of course they can ignore the bible for a few minutes here an there if it is for their benefit.

Regardless of the existence of such a supreme being it is undeniable that its "presence" has also had positive impacts on society as well.

Christian purists would say that Christ's crucifixion was a once only event. For them Genesis refers only to the creation of 'human' life. So that makes it impossible or repugnant for them to think that Jesus went to every other habitable world to die for alien sinners too.
