“Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch,
they are unclean to you.” [Leviticus 11:7-8]
“And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud,
it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their
dead carcass.” [Deuteronomy 14:8]

The Bible says pork is forbidden. But the Bible has been changed around..don't you see how many different bibles there are? this bible is by this person, this bible is by another..it is so easy to edit things, or just ignore them..so many people now think that following your religion correctly is a thing of the past, and that religion isn't important, just do your own thing. They are totally wrong!if you read the old testament, you'll see so many things present-day Christians are doing wrong..like eating pork, sex before marriage, etc. I'm not being mean to Christians though so don't take this as a negative comment! Christians are slowly leaning away from their religion. Some people call themselves Christians and wear the cross but never gone to Chruch in their entire lives. I mean, look at the Muslim's holy book, it's been around for a looong time and not one thing has been changed. Christians should have followed Islam's example and not changed their Holy Book.

All that was in the old testament are law of moses, we have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus which was shed on the cross of calvary,so by that we are no longer bond under these laws, the bible says that all that is created by God is good so if pork is created by him then is good, for the bible also says that it is not what we eat that makes us unclean but the things that we think in our heart.

Most Christians do not know the difference between laws, ordinances, and statutes. That’s because most pastors don’t know either.
They point to Acts Chapter 10, which is about people, not about food.
Here's what Christ had to say about the law:
Matthew Chapter 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Luke Chapter 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

"LTD" has it exactly right. Those sorts of taboos generally are the result of misunderstood phenomena that people felt a need to explain; thus, claim it is God's will.
But because they are embedded in religious beliefs, the "taboos"/myths persist long after the real problem is determined.

It says that cloven hoved animals are "unclean"...however, you have to understand that in those times, there was no refrigeration and pork was not easily kept for long periods so that it would "keep", and made people sick when they ate it...
Hence the warnings of pork...(in ancient times, when something was bad but they had no idea WHY it was bad, it became "wrong")...
Plus, in many religions, Satan has cloven hoves...so it is a "sin" to eat meat from any animal with a cloven hoof...

The division that existed regarding jewish law at the time of Christ still exists today.
One camp said Jesus free'd humanity of the (jewish) laws, while the other camp wanted to continue this type of life. The new testiment allows eating of pork (and lobster etc).
I believe the jewish laws were based on very valid health considerations, as were many of their customs (bathing, sweeping of the grain etc).
