but hold back because you are afraid of the racist reactions you will get from SOME people on here, especially in the religion and spirituality section. I wanted to ask a question that I am unclear about in the Quran to see if anyone could shed light on the matter but think there's no point as the bulk of the answers will be full of Islamophobic hatred. Anyone else feel this way?

Salam sis! You're going to get ignorant and bigotted answers, it's just inevitable, lol!People like that just love attention and cannot let a question go by without saying something to get that attention. I figure most of them are the types with no real friends so they have bitterness and anger towards the world and will lash out at anyone they think has a weakness they can exploit.
Thing is you just have to ignore them. Don't be afraid to ask any question, because even if there are ignorant goons out there, there may be others who want to know the same thing and can also benefit from the question you asked. Just get it at the right time of day so that you get some good answers too, not just snerts and hermits, lol!
Good luck sis!

Islamophobic hatred is a product of the media in the UK. I know several people (who happen to be Muslim) who's religion I couldn't care less about. I was brought up in Belfast and have had religious bigotry up to the back teeth. Those who judge others on the basis of a preconceived notion of religion are ignorant in my view. That goes both ways.
Unfortunately it is easier, cheaper and more immediately rewarding to hate than think about it.
Still ... rules are rules and EVERYONE in this society is free to air their beliefs. I just wish some were a bit more tolerant.

ADDITION: Thinking about it ... the Christians (the "God Squad") come in for a huge bashing here as well. They get it in the neck just as bad.

It all depends on your focus
Why don't you simply ignore the "islamophobic" comments and focus on the couple of answers you may get which truly answers your question. Skim across the comments you don't like, and are of no use.
Christians get loads of similar unhelpful comments from atheists and sometimes propaganda from muslims.

I think you have a valid point. There are times when I hold back knowing that the majority of answers will be hate-filled, hence defeating the object.

Maybe people on here need to grow up a little and treat others with respect.

There are very few racists here, but a great many atheists. You need to appreciate that what you interpret as Islamophobia is really a scientifically based disgust of all irrational superstitious faiths. It's not Islam specifically, but all superstitious religion in general, that is so severely criticized here in R&S. History has repeatedly proved that superstitious religion always undermines human civilization and seriously hinders technological progress, particularly when ignorant faith has been considered an adequate substitute for genuine knowledge. America is already far too religious, being deeply awash in our own ancestor's ignorant Christian superstitions. The last thing America needs is more ancient superstitions, nor do we need the kind of evil and violence Islam brings to every country it occupies. You, as a human being are welcome here. Your ignorant superstitions will never be welcome among a free people who prefer to think for themselves, rather than being told what they must believe. America already has more than enough violence and trouble caused by its own Christian fundamentalists. The last thing our scientifically educated civilization needs is even more ignorant superstition poisoning our culture. That is what you feel -- not "Islamophobia," not racism, but a general fear and loathing of all superstitious religion. There is nothing in this world so perniciously evil as superstitious ignorance disguised to appear as factual truth. Everyone who is able to read a newspaper knows that only an illiterate fool could ever believe Islam is a religion of peace. I have also read the Quran (in English) and I know that I certainly want absolutely no part of your murderous and persistently violent superstitious beliefs.

If you feel the need to be angry or to blame someone for this situation, blame the extremists of your own faith who daily perform acts of blood-soaked violence in the name of Islam's imaginary Allah. Today, we discover that Islam's ignorant faithful have murdered Benazir Bhutto. Foolish Muslims protest in the countless millions when someone draws a silly cartoon of Mohammad and yet educated Muslims remain strangely silent when a great leader has been murdered. Are you proud of such obvious ignorance? Those Muslims who have far too often resorted to Jihad are precisely why ethical and moral human beings by the millions are now turning their backs on every form of superstitious religion, especially Islam. Even Allah Himself cannot disguise the great evil inherent in all organized superstitious religions, and particularly not the violent evil lurking within fundamental Islam.

If you wish to discuss Islam with other like-minded people, this forum is certainly not the proper place for that. Try the Ramadan section -- that's where Muslims generally go to socialize and validate each other's religious superstitions.

Don't feel picked upon. I'm a new age Christian. I've seen things that can only be described as angelic. Yet, if I try and post any of the thruths I know on this site, my own turn on my like sharks in a feeding frenzy.

Just thumbs down the ignorant answers, and they will be blocked from your view and you can look for the answers you need.

I hate terrorists and purveyors of violence as do most people!
I don't think that makes me Islamophobic or anti Muslim
As an Irish guy growing up during the IRA blitz on the mainland I was stopped and questioned frequently but who should the police have really stopped and questioned; the Welsh!?
It is simply a matter of common sense, if bombs are being planted by a particular sector of society then that sector suffers.
So in that respect, get angry with your fellow Muslims or Islamic terrorists, rather than blaming police, government or those not involved in such acts.
It is simple mathematics; if in a country of blue and green people, a section of the blue people are planting bombs, who pays the price?
Certainly not the green people; and if enough blue people stand up against the terrorists amongst them,it won't be them either!

Most of those "islamophobic" wish they had something to relate to as we do with islam, i think you should ask any question you want and laugh at the negative answers.
