i don't know much about really anything, but i do know that Hel is where the people who die of old age go, and apparently is like a disgrace.

so here's my question

is this a place of torment, ie is comparable to the Christian Hell?

second, if you're old and die of old age, but you die while kicking someone's butt, do you go to Hel?

I am a new revert and I have some questions of concern. One of them is this...I have an old freind who is a disbeliever but he is a good person. He is kind... he treats everyone with respect and maintains a high level of integrity. I have much difficulty in believing that his fate is to be engulfed in hellfire eternally. Is it not possible that God may show some mercy to people like this? I understand that he could not be rewarded with pardise if he does not believe in it but to be made to suffer forever sounds far too harsh to me.

There is a site, http://www.reserveaspotinheaven.com/, that is selling kits that "guarantee" you getting into heaven...it's a gag gift type of thing, but some people are kind of upset. From the story on foxnews.com (I know it's foxnews, don't hurt me) "I think they're basically securing themselves a first-class ticket to hell for doing that and mocking God," she told the DJs. "Obviously, they don't have a genuine relationship with God or know anything about Christianity, because they're completely ruining it." --a woman named Amber calling in on a radio show.

Are you offended, or do you find the gifts funny? If you're not offended, what do you think about this part of the article?

"About one out of every 10 e-mails that come in complains about the idea, he said; most mention the Bible. To date, no one has written in the name of Islam, Judaism or any other religion aside from Christianity, Kim said."

John 10:30 is often quoted to show that Jesus is equal to God. But when you read the
verse in its context you will find that the passage taken as a whole proves the opposite.

If so do you hang on to certian church beliefs like for example do you consider yourself Baptist, Methodist etc or do you have your own set of beliefs maybe eclectic in you christianity?

No right or wrong answers just wondering. Church people can answer also with your view on this practice.

As a former Christian minister I know the view I held based on Hebrews 10:25.

This is not a troll question, I am just interested in your opinion

The best answer will be picked according to what moves me not what I personally believe. I may or may not agree.

A few weeks ago, Co-worker A told me that Co-worker B is from Costa Rica.

So last night when Co-worker B mentioned going back to El Salvador, I said, "I thought you were from Costa Rica." He looked at me with a murderous expression, walked away, and didn't speak to me for the rest of the night.

Did I commit some sort of major faux pas? And what do I say tomorrow that won't do further damage?

many of you said that one must be delusional or ignorant to believe in something for which there is no scientific proof. ok.

i believe in my mother's love for me, though i have no scientific proof of this.

so what things should be taken on faith, and which should be scientifically proven, and how will i know the difference?

this is a philosophical debate, not a religious one, so let's keep it clean folks.
