Nothing. According to Sharia.. any act is not "Sinful" by itself; it must contain two elements:
1- Mental element. "Mens rea"
2- Material element. "Actus reas"
Mental element is the bad intention (guilty mind); is to know that we are doing Haram.. While Material element is to actually do this Haram by Hand.
Please remeber that bedwin who raised his voice on the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم before the holy house. Lack of knowledge that "this is the prophet" excluded his act from being a sin.
Conclusion; as you didn't know it's alcohol.. it's ok; with health and wealth.

Let me get this straight, you feel guilty because you ate a chocolate that you did not know contained alcohol. Why are you feeling guilty over something that you had not control over? I understand that as a Muslim you are not supposed to drink or ingest alcohol. Ask yourself if you did it willingly? Your answer is going to be no because you did not know that the chocolate contained alcohol. Please, realize that it was a mistake and move on. There are far worse things that you could have done. Remember, Allah is merciful is He not?

I am a total abstainer (Christian) and I know what you must feel like. But remember that almost all people have had alcohol at one time or another. Did you know that 80% of all medications in the world are an alcohol base. You may have been taking it for years and didn't know it. I don't know Islam at all, but in Christianity God looks at the heart and the motives and intentions of our hearts, and judges us on that.

Dont worry!
All mighty Allah is most merciful and forgiving. You ate it without your knowledge of it containing alcohol and you feel remorse for it
so it would definitely not be counted as sin... If you like recite a Thawba and ask forgiveness if that would make you feel better... :)
dont worry yourself much about it..

My Catholic tradition teaches that for an action to be sinful, it must be grave, and it must have been intentional. For you, ingesting alcohol is grave, that is, serious. But if you had no knowledge that the chocolate contained alcohol, your action is not a sin, because you had no intention to use alcohol.

I agree with Alli...you ate it unwittingly. You did not deliberately ingest alcohol so it was totally out of your control. Just move on and if it makes you feel better, ask the person who brought it before partaking. Have a great day!

“Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error”
[al-Baqarah 2:286]
And Allaah has said, “I have done that” [i.e., forgiven them].
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah has forgiven my ummah for mistakes and forgetfulness and what they are forced to do.”. Narrated by Ibn Maajah in his Sunan, Kitaab al-Talaaq, 2043; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah, 1662, 1664.
And Allaah knows best.

Chocolate liquor contains no alcohol; if that is what was in your treat, rest easy. If it was truly alcohol, you didn't know so it was not intentional.

Purleaze. Alcohol is produced by bacteria and yeasts, and they're in everything unless it's been pasteurized/sterilized. You've been absorbing small quantities of alcohol all your life.
And all your paper money has traces of cocaine on it.
Forget about being atomically pure - it can't happen. And it simply does not matter.
