I make them take the sacraments of reconciliation and holy eucharist, then I make them promise to give 10% of the receipts for the day to a Christian charity.

I don't insist they say anything but if they do say "Season's Greetings" or "Happy Holidays" I still just say Merry Christmas back. Just because they say that doesn't mean they are Atheist. A lot of companies make their employees say that just so no one would be offended. I work in Human Resources and I am a Christian but I don't and can't go around telling people Merry Christmas at work or anything that has to do with my religion...I can be fired. In my position I can not show any favoritism toward anyone or voice my opinion on any body's beliefs. Now outside of work, yes...I tell everyone Merry Christmas but at work (and most places are becoming like this) you can't. And I don't know about you, but I can't afford to be fired!

I don't have a problem with you saying "Merry Christmas" to them, but why should you make someone who might not be a Christian say something celebrating the birth of Christ?
I wonder if you would feel comfortable wishing someone a happy Ramadan or Hanukah?
Seriously, if you get offended by "happy holidays" or "seasons greetings" (which aren't athiest - those have been around for longer than I have and have usually meant "Merry Christmas" to me.) you need to get a thicker skin.
I can't believe you actually get offended when someone wishes you well. You should re-evaluate your priorities.

Well, just say merry christmas back when they say happy holidays, and they will porobably say merry christmas in return and then everyone will be happy. Many retail places have policies where you can't say Merry Christmas, for example Zellers in Canada. They aren't allowed even if they want to, out of fear of upsetting some one of another faith. I think it's stupid. Why be offended no matter what someone says? We are all talking about the same season. I say happy winter solstice, because that's what I like about the christmas season, and I hope it doesn't offend anyone. I also have a christmas tree. Basically I partake in the pagen aspect of christmas. To me it's all the same, so happy chanuka, Kwanza, Merry chirstmas/ the birth of Issa prophet of Allah!!! And oh yeah, Happy winter Solstice. Don't be angry please.:)

No I don't. I say Merry Christmas, but don't expect it from others unless they celebrate Christmas and reciprocate. One salesperson said happy holidays. Didn't bother me a bit. Some just say have a nice day.

You shouldn't be offended. We are all given a free will to choose to believe in the Lordship of Jesus or not. Atheist can't be expected to contradict their view by greeting you "Merry Christmas"

No, and I wouldn't. Insisting other people suit themselves to your personal preferences is both INCONSIDERATE AND DISCRIMINATORY.
But, sure, get offended when people kindly greet you. It's your choice.
P.S. "...And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
-- Mark 12:17
There's this things called "freedom of religion", which means that not only you but everyone else as well has the right to choose which ever religion they want to adhere to. Have you ever even realized that wishing you "Merry Xmas" might be violating their religious laws and principles? Would you violate your religious laws and principles to please someone just to get her buy things in your store? If not, don't expect anyone else to do it either.

Heh,
Getting offended by 'Happy Holidays' shows how week you and your belief system really is.
Those poor retail jockeys, getting religiously molested while earning just over minimum wage, a Christian on one side forcing them to say Merry Christmas, and a Jew on the other forcing them to say Happy Hanukkah and an atheist in front of them asking for Happy Holidays...
Retail Sucks.

I don't badger cashiers. Earning a living is tough enough without some idiot Christian making life even more difficult. You abuse the fact that employees are compelled by their employers to tolerate your childish insults. Grow up. There are other people in line behind you and they're all going to have to deal with that angry cashier you've just humiliated. Are you able to understand that what you are doing clearly demonstrates you are a Christian bigot?

As salaamu 'alaikym.
No, as a Muslims I don't celebrate Christmas and would rather not be greeted with such a hoiday greeting.
As Eid al Adha is December 20, I wonder why they are not aware enough to use an appropirate Eid greeting for customers such as myself?
It seem discriminatory that they don't, yet they gladly take my money...
Ma'a salaam
