Furthermore is it bad form/morally wrong to continue the charade, even if it,{the fabrication} lightens the daily grind of an office based vocation

No more unethical than it is for a lesbian to pretend to be straight. No one really takes much seriously here. And the ones who do usually know what their friends are about after talking with them for awhile and the truth either way is known.

Take me for instance, I am not really a monkey.

Good God, how can you be so silly? you are inviting the possibility that this is a man ---and a dangerous one at that, this happens all the time. Do you REALLY think someone would come to NY just to talk---cancel this thing---and it is not a matter of this person being a lesbian--it's just dangerous. The choice is yours but I can see the headlines now. What if they won't leave---or they leave with stolen property, or you get assaulted at the first opportune moment? You need to rethink this---find a local person that you can really develop a relationship with. Be safe and have a nice holiday

YES it's unethical to pretend to be something your not. Guilt will set in on you at some point. Unless of course you have no conscience, when you lie about yourself it's never a good thing. Call it a fabrication, call it a charade, it's still lying no matter how you slice it. It's hard enough to just be yourself.
To thine own self be true. Take Tila Tequila for example she said she was a bi-sexual and come to find out she is in fact straight. It's stupid to say you are one thing and to have it come out publicly that you aren't. It's not harmless you can hurt a lot of people doing this "charade".

By doing that you'd basically be lying about yourself. Lying is unethical and generally considered morally wrong.

It's not a good idea to continue it. It could get out of hand and before you know you'll either get yourself into trouble or hurt someone with your lying.

Your implying that there are ethics online, and I have come to find that the most unethical place in the world is online, seriously how many chat rooms have you gone into with 20 people asking you to have sex or buy something, and if your in a chat to help people morning a loss of some sort

Seriously you think there's ethics online,

Your crazy man.

Short answer:No, it's not like your ever gonna meet.

Not at all.. most people you meet online lie about things.. my husband and I met online and we fabricated so many things to each other.. then 6 months after we met online, we fessed up when we decided to have a REAL relationship. We always laugh about it now. Most online relationships are fake.. keep in mind though, that if you do end up wanting a real relationship with someone you will have to fess up your untruthfullness.. the person may decide not to have a relationship with you after you lied. Best Wishes!

I don´t see why not, you do hear of people pretending to be people they´re not in their daily lives. Just as long as it doesn´t cause any problems for example getting close to someone online and meeting them when they believe you´re someone you´re not you know?

Well in other words what I´m trying to say is as long as it´s not grooming children, deceit and all the other stuff.

Anyway, have a good evening!!

I'm not sure that this is a question of etiquette, more one of asking whether lying and deceit are acceptable forms of conduct.

Not unethical but ever so slightly cheesey with a hint of creepyness.

All's fair on the internet. Hopefully everybody knows by now that you can't believe anything people say online. So if its fun for you, go for it! I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body in real life. :-)
