I've actually learned quite a lot in College and beyond. I have studied and read other religious books. None of those compare to the Bible. Yes it as well as other books have been misquoted to aid politics and war, but that at best is a misquote from the Bible. The Bible itself does not teach war but peace. Love your enemies and resolve conflicts with peace. Those who do not understand it make it into a justification of war, but that doesn't make the Bible evil, just those individuals who lack knowledge. As an educated individual nothing compares to the Bible and its teachings.

So we are to abandon everything we have learned from our current source to embrace another source of information?

We are born with the innate ability to discern truth. We also have the ability to seek comfort for our emotional pain and confusion. I personally prefer to try to understand what my emotional pain is trying to tell me. That is the whole reason we have pain in the first place. It is an alarm system. This movie is like just cutting the wires to our alarm system and telling us "The government and religion are making your alarm ring." If you look deeper you will find that it may be something else that is sounding the emotional alarm. The government and religion is not all that interested in you.

I completely agree with you. Unfortunately people are often given their religion at birth by their parents, and indoctrinated at such a young age that the effects are often irreversible. I understand your frustration. I am one that questioned the faith I was given and opened my eyes to many truths and secrets about our world which I wouldn't have learned otherwise. But yelling about it just makes people close off with their own beliefs more. You can not convert some one OUT of religion too easily. It has to be a realization or want of their own... not yours. Again though, I agree with you.

Yes, I am a believer of the Holy Bible. I have educated myself on other religions, not all, nor do I claim to be an expert of any of them, including being a Christian. Being a Christian, or any other kind of believer, is a life long learning process. I watched a small bit of the movie suggested, the bible prophesies destruction of mankind, by our own undoing. My thoughts as a Christian.

I have read anything I could on other religions. I feel to understand people you need to understand what they beleive in. I'm Pagan so no I do not follow the Bible. I did not say there was nothing to it, unlike most monothic religions most Pagans are more undrstanding of other belifs. I do get mad when people start bashing someone esle belifs no matter what they are.
