I've recently heard really good version to the classic Holly, Jolly Christmas. The problem is, I have no idea who sings it. All I can say is that the singer is female, has a very high pitched voice, and the instruments used have more of a "rock" sound.

Anyone hear or know what I'm talking about?

i have not been a great example for Jesus and know that i have turned people away from a great GOD! now that i'm older in Christ, i have a better perspective on how to live accordingly, do you hate Christ because of the way us 'christians' have behaved towards you and would you forgive me and give Jesus a try? God bless you and your answers, even if they're hateful, i'll understand.

I don't really want to do a gift she probably won't need, like a coffee mug or ornament, but I would like to send some little something. Any thoughts from teachers would be especially appreciated. I was thinking about maybe a Barnes and Noble gift card, something that is usable, but is that not very personal?

Some of my cousins are Chinese or part Chinese. Will people be nice to him in the south? Remember it is a guy not a girl. A girl is a whom different story. Apparently less a threat.

-- most folks think if we do it will solve all of these shootings we have been having in the usa -- flip side -- what about the ranchers who want to protect their stock -- or the hunter who hunts for sport or food on the table --- yes guns kill folks == but is there a happy middle ground -- my favorite joke was guns do not kill people -- arouse husbands do -- yes these shooting are sad -- but most if not all were caused by crazy folks == if the guns was not used they would find someother way!!!!

With winter here. It's skiing. I made it to about the intermediate level. I'm still happy I had the opportunity to do it at all. Many folks in my socio-economic level never did.

By fight, I do not mean by going after innocent people and attacking. I mean defending your own self and putting an end to persecution and oppression. Would you? And what do you think of what Islam states concerning terrorism?

"We find in verses 2:190-193 that the Quran values religious liberty even above the right to life: "... attacking a religious group (fitnah) is more severe than a plain attack (qatl)." These are the first verses revealed that tell Muslims to fight to defend themselves.

"Jihad" is an Arabic word that means "struggle." It is either military or nonviolent. The verses prescribe when military jihad is allowed. In all other situations, nonviolent jihad (personal and civic struggle) is the only legitimate way to achieve change.

"Fight in the way of God against those who are fighting you and do not start a fight; God surely dislikes aggressors."

First off, I was raised in a Baptist church - one in which women were required to wear long dresses, no make up, no hair dye, no tight fitting clothes, never cutting their hair, etc. I remember being "forced" to go door to door to invite people to come to church. As I've gotten older I've started to think more on this topic - wouldn't people be more receptive to Christians knocking on their door looking more like them and in a way relatable rather than like someone from the 19th century? I understand modesty, but isn't there a way to do it that's inviting to people rather than scaring them away?

I'm just wondering because I visited the website www.scientology.org and in the corner they have pictures of volunteer ministers with crosses on their shirts. Do they believe in Jesus or do they just like how the cross looks? An article on the website says that they dont force anyone to believe anything or accept anything.

Im confused....

I was so moved by her story. It's about a simple watchmaker and his family in Holland during the Nazi invasion. Corrie Ten Boom is one of the women in the story. They start an underground hiding Jews and helping them escape. It's an unbelievable true story and how her faith helped her through it. When she got out of the Ravensbruck concentration camp as a result of her experience she eventually travelled all over the world witnessing and teaching about Jesus. Here is just an example of one of her sermons.
