Wiccans are sometimes involved in communicating with the spiritual realm in their practices correct? Has anyone succeeded in doing this? What do you believe are the sources of the spirits you contact, and what do you believe about God?

I'm a Catholic and I believe in evolution, dinosaurs, etc. The first 12 chapters of the Genesis aren't actually supposed to be taken literally. They simply show God's love fore us, and humanity's evil and love for him. I forget the name for it, but it is actually a literary device used outside of religion. The most important sentence is at the end, and the story is constructed like a pyramid. I woulld also like to let you know that most CATHOLIC priests believe in evolution. Stop accusing us of believing in fairy tales. Learn what the true meaning of those opening chapters of Genesis actually mean, and then come criticizing us, and I doubt you'd have much to argue with.

The media falls all over itself when a star gets "outed", and you see gay people flaunt their lifestyle all over the place, but if a star shows one little sign of a mental illness, you never hear from them again. What's your views on this?

If a person within the RCC doesn't believe a defined "dogma" of the Church (like papal infallibility for example), but keeps their opinion to themself, are they excommunicated; or do they have to publicly disagree with or defy the Church? Thanks for your answers.

Matthew 10:22: "And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved."
Matthew 24:13: "But he who endures to the end shall be saved."
Mark 13:13: "And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved."
Luke 21:16-18: "You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. All men will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life."

It sounds like something more than faith is required: Endurance in the face of tests and temptations.

One things is clear: We can definitely rule out once in grace, always in grace. If getting into grace one time did it all, there would be no reason to teach enduring to the end.

Our AWANA club, for it's bonus points, have asked the clubbers to dress as a shepherd(ess) or a wise man(woman...to be PC, of course). As a leader, I always try to match up what ever the 'club night' is. I've got a biblical costume and thought I'd tie a bag of Wise potato chips around my neck. That way, I'd be a WISE MAN.
Oh, come on! Admit you grinned a bit!
(AWANA? go to awana.org to find out what it is, if you've never heard of it)

Dear Mr. and Mrs. XXX

I want to thank you for the opportunity you gave me to work in your home, I regret to inform you that another position has been offered to me that suits the actual benefit of the services I provide which is child care. I am not opposed to light housework if and when it wouldn't interfere with my duties with the children. I am sorry but I felt by your actions that you were more concerned if housework was completed than you were anything else. My new position offers a lot of benefits to both myself and the family I will be providing my services to. I feel in the line of work I am in a certain level of comfort must be felt on both parts and I was uncomfortable in my position there. I am informing you now that as of Friday the 21st of December will be my final day. I apologize for any inconvenience, I am sure this would give you ample time to find a suitable replacement. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

That's what i plan to turn in tomorow.

I'm a native Spanish speaker but I'm certainly surprised at the use of Anglicism in some answers I've read here. Anglicism is a word of English origin adapted somehow to Spanish (i.e. carpet being translated as carpeta instead of alfombra).
My question is this: is there a dictionary or web site of commonly used Anglicism?
Thank you

For some reason, the analogy I picture in my mind is as scientists being children with Christians as grown ups, laughing at the children’s attempts to explain the universe without God. You know, Galileo shook things up a bit and the fossils being dug up by archaeologists might have caused some concern but Christians were still entertained by the discoveries of scientists. But then Darwin’s theory came along and all of a sudden, the children knew more than the grown ups and could explain how life develops without God. This turned the tables and the Christians were more like children clinging on to fairytale beliefs and ever since then, they haven’t been able to trust science.

if they don't believe what you believe? Do you like impressing your beliefs onto gullible young minds to force them into your way of thinking without giving the opportunity to have other choices? I'm very curious about this. I've always considered forced childhood religious indoctrinations to be a form of mental child abuse and brainwashing.
