Racism has been in America and will continue to be for a very very long time unless people do something about it. Well I'm a black teenager and just watching TV I see all of these thugs standing around, grabbing crotch and scantily clad women shaking their "moneymakers" at the cameras. That in itself is racism. The media portrays blacks as ignorant, thus making it where one doesn't even have to leave the house to see racism.

I go to a Catholic school so there isn't a whole lot of racism from the white students, but there is from the black students. People call me an Oreo (a black guy who doesn't act like a ghetto thug/ruffian). It seems that American media even makes blacks racist against people of their own race. I feel remorse whenever I see them because I realize where racism stems from--stereotypes. People see a group of people from another race and make a broad generalization--the "ghetto blacks."

Chief Illinwek at the University of Illinois. Full blooded Indians have stood on the Quad and denounced him but the yuppie kids from the suburbs of Chicago thinks he's 'cool' so they still want him. He's been removed as the Campus mascot but it took over 25 years and there are still rumbles. It isn't about blacks and whites but it's just as racist. Because it's not about blacks, the white kids are incapable of seeing the racism.

Yes, there is still racism in the United States. It can be found in every race, usually among the lower classes of the race, it is more visible. The recent beatings of white people in Maryland,by blacks, and the beating of a white man in Massachusetts, by Latinos, shows that other races are being racist.
