When you accept the existence of goodness, you must affirm a moral law on the basis of which to differentiate between good and evil. But when you admit to a moral law, you must posit a moral lawgiver. That, however, is who you are trying to disprove and not prove. For if there is no moral lawgiver, there is no moral law. If there is no moral law, there is no good. If there is no good, there is no evil. Explain?

Interviewer: Do you have any thoughts on the Catholic pedophilia issue? While the Vatican has handed out hundreds of millions of dollars to cover this up, do you think they’ve gotten off too easily so far?

-ROSEANNE: Most all religions are pedophile cults, I think. The Catholic Church will go completely broke before everything is over.

that Christmas came around and there was no doll under the Christmas tree? And it suddenly hit you that your little girl was growing up for real? I remember that first time and I felt so sad that there was no doll under the tree for my daughter, she had passed out of childhood ... and time was moving too fast.

Perhaps those out there who enjoy harshly criticizing, attacking and judging religious (or nonreligious people) out there might want to read this article. Extreme hate along with weapons and other issues can lead to incidents like this. The hatred and judgment of another religion or nonreligious people is wrong, as wrong as racism, colonialism, homophobia, a hatred of the homeless or any other prejudice.

Do you believe that our souls have the power to hurt or cause pain to others physical bodies? I am NOT talking about witchcraft or anything done purposely or done in malice!

I am talking about two souls being so connected that when one person's soul "speaks" so loudly, that it affects the closest to them, so strongly that it not only affects their souls, but pours over (for lack of better words), into their physical bodies, causing them pain, dysfunction and other physical abnormalities?

Do you see an undoubtable connection to religion, science and life as we know it?

[What you should know is that what inspired me to ask this question is purely based on one of my most favourite quotes of what Albert Einstein once said: "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."]

Would you agree with one of the greatest geniuses to ever live or would you beg to differ?

(taken in to account that Einstein was indeed Agnostic)

(any respectful and logical thoughts would be appreciated)

Even though I have not officially withdrew the right hand of fellowship from C.O.G.I.C, I am no longer affiliated with the organization. I was not in a rebellious state when I woke up and realized that what I was apart was not "Godly". The things that I have witnessed broke my heart and made me think ill of an organization that, a little over a year ago, would be proud to be a part of. I think that one of the problems may be that there is so much emphasis on things, and "looking blessed", that the fundamentals, like building a strong prayer life, being that living bible and living what you preach were somehow lost in commerialism and a disdain for education(Imagine being a pre-med major at a church like this, whew!lol!) is one of reasons why people either "fall off the boat" or return to streets. Just curious, that's all :)

I dont believe in god, or think that there is a god. But at the same time, I realize that no one knows, and that its stupid to think that you do.

A Scotsman met a beautiful blonde lady and decided he wanted to marry her right away.

She said, "But we don't know anything about each other."

He said, "That's all right, we'll learn about each other as we go along." So she consented, they were married, and off they went on a honeymoon at a very nice resort.

One morning they were lying by the pool, when he got up off of his towel, climbed up to the 10 meter board and did a two and a half tuck, followed by three rotations in the pike position, at which point he straightened out and cut the water like a knife. After a few more demonstrations, he came back and lay down on the towel.

She said, "That was incredible!"

He said, "I used to be an Olympic diving champion. You see, I told you we'd learn more about each other as we went along."

So she got up, jumped in the pool, and started doing laps. After seventy-five laps she climbed out of the pool, lay down on her towel, and was hardly out of breath.

He said, "That was incredible! Were you an Olympic endurance swimmer?"

”No," she said, "I was a prostitute in Perth, Scotland, but I worked both sides of the river."

Why are the Christians in this justifying the terrorist's actions? We Muslims say the same, and know that they are not true Muslims because they are attacking other Muslims and innocent people. So how come this guy is excused but the small percentage of Muslims who make the news are representatives for all Muslims? Aren't you guys having a double standard here?

I am an atheist, but my two older sisters are both *very* Catholic. This has caused a rift between them and me. Their faith prevents them from accepting the fact that I am an atheist, and my rational side could never accept their point of view. Should I make a false conversion just to satisfy them (knowing full well that this rift will continue indefinitely if I don't) ...?

Personally, I find it quite irritating that people believe you have to be a "christian" or of some religious affiliation to have morals. I have noticed in my Theory of Knowledge class that no matter WHAT we talk about, RELIGION is always at least ONE person's argument. I find myself annoyed and ticked off with such logic as it does not seem logical to me at all. I am an agnostic who honestly couldn't care less about religion. I get frustrated with people telling me "you need to see the light" or "you need to be touched by Jesus." I don't believe in this "light" and "Jesus" hasn't touched me for quite some time. I am a person of high morals. I know very many atheists who are VERY good people who have not done "un-Christian-like" things ever in their lives. I stopped being afraid of hell because I don't believe in hell. I can still do the right thing and not believe in religion, period. I'm curious to know why religion is the reason for everything and why it's shoved in people's faces.

I keep seeing on here that the Catholic church is apostolic and follows the teachings of the apostles. Now I may not know a lot about church history so it could be I am wrong. But as far as I know every single thing taught by the apostles is in the Bible. I know Catholics say the apostles taught their doctrines so I am asking a Catholic to show me where Paul or any of the original apostles taught anything that is not contained in the Bible. Show me where Paul taught papal infallibility or that Mary was sinless. Show me where Peter claimed to be the Pope. I challenge you to show me something that we know was taught by an apostle and is not found in the Bible. Can you do it?

What are the differences in Paul's teachings and Jesus' teachings?

I've actually heard that some churches do not teach the word of Paul.

Was Paul's word not God inspired?

2007-12-10 12:16:04 · 8 answers · asked by Anonymous in Religion & Spirituality

That's really all I want to know.

Why?

Why can't we all get along?

So what if we don't all believe the same thing? Wouldn't life be boring that way? With so much diversity, we have the chance to learn new things everyday. I only wish half of what I learned everyday was not how ignorant human beings can be.

I know that there's a lot of prejudice between different belief systems, prejudice that goes back hundreds and thousands of years. My own belief system has some of those prejudices. I choose to ignore them, because they only get in the way of forming relationships with other people.

Why can't we just accept that we have differences and move on? Why can't we learn from each others' differences rather than condemn those who don't believe the same things.

Wouldn't the world (and the R&S section) be a better place if we didn't bite off each others' heads at every opporunity?

The Bible says that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses who are the saints. It also teaches that we are to pray for each other. It says that the saints hear our prayers as they present our prayers before the throne of God for us. With these biblical statements how can one justify their rejection of the communion of saints? Where is the historical proof that the early Church rejected this biblical teaching.

I don't want to go into details, because I don't think there is any reason for that... Maybe it was not me, who has been cursed. Maybe its somebody from my family. But the bottom line is - I am affected by that every day. Please, tell me how can I get rid of the curse, even though, I do not know who or why cursed me or somebody from my family... And please, don't give me answers like "don't believe in it and will go away". I myself know, that a curse can be a simple bad wish or simply a bad thought... How do I get rid of it?! I will do anything!!!
