Even though I have not officially withdrew the right hand of fellowship from C.O.G.I.C, I am no longer affiliated with the organization. I was not in a rebellious state when I woke up and realized that what I was apart was not "Godly". The things that I have witnessed broke my heart and made me think ill of an organization that, a little over a year ago, would be proud to be a part of. I think that one of the problems may be that there is so much emphasis on things, and "looking blessed", that the fundamentals, like building a strong prayer life, being that living bible and living what you preach were somehow lost in commerialism and a disdain for education(Imagine being a pre-med major at a church like this, whew!lol!) is one of reasons why people either "fall off the boat" or return to streets. Just curious, that's all :)

it sounds like you were involved in a cult that actively encourages people to link up to the organisation and the leaders rather than help people develop their spirituality with their own relationship with Jesus Christ and God for themselves

there are so many out there who have left groups like that - some with zero spirituality because of issues to do with abuse - but there are so many out there who realise they need more than a cult gives them and go on to find a personal relationship with Jesus Christ for themselves - something that most cults do their best to ensure their people never gain.

so the choice isn't necessarily going back to the streets or fall of the boat - there are other alternatives out there too

Look to Jesus, not to man, Honey! There are plenty of great churches out there. Personally, this one never was doctrinally sound, if you ask me.....
