there must have been a few typos in it because within the text he states that we find hope only in God and without God there is no hope, surley he must have ment Mary or one of the saints, since we worship them so much. any other hethenistic catholics see the error?

I am a Catholic. I do not worship Mary or the saints. There is a difference between veneration and outright worship. Our church does not teach that the Blessed Virgin Mary, or any of the saints, died on the Cross for the redemption of mankind. That was done by Christ. I have not, admittedly, read the Pope's encyclical; however, if he states that our hope is in the Lord, then he is doctrinally correct.

Catholics don't worhsip Blessed Mother and other saints. Under the doctrine communion of saints, by asking Mary and other saints and angels to pray for us, we pray with them together, i.e. Military Chruch and Triumphant Church all worshipping Trinity God.

Actually we do not worship Mary or the Saints, since they can't be worshiped. We venerate them, which is similar, but not quite worshiping. Since we are saved by the grace of God, through the sacrifices of his son Jesus Chris, we, therefore, have no reason to have hope in anything else but Him.

Some Catholics may worship Mary but the Church's position is that she be honored and deeply respected. Worship is reserved for God alone.

Dude, did you ever read that little book they gave you when you were baptized?

Let me kinda summarize it; we screwed up, God wanted to help us out, was impressed with "Mother Mary" enough to trust her with raising Jesus (God's son, also called God incarnate). Jesus took the punishment for our screwing up, so now we don't have to go to Hell if we accept what Jesus did for us.

Mary was a kicking-awesome girl; God was impressed by her (Luke 1:28 -30) so she's deserving of respect. But there's no point in praying to her, she can't save you, she was just another dude, she screwed up in life to.

Saving people is in God's and Jesus' department :)

Have a good one dude

For a change he is telling the Truth.
He might get booted off for that.
Change is good if put into practice.
Next he will say to destroy all the idols of Mary and Saints.
Will YOU lessen?

the catholic church has recently been caught not in typos but in huge lies.... the church is a scam and if you look at the changes through out the church you will see that it changes it's theology to not get caught in it's lies.... there is no mary .... but there will be a female to oppose the church they thought they could condemn it... (for they have been doing that as long as the story of EVE exsited) or they thought they had conquered her, for they brought the spirit of a female called mary and successfully deceived many with it with no apperant penalty.... but the female god is about to rise up and they feel the curse of her falling upon them... they thaught they had prepared against her but in the end the church will be cursed and destroyed.....
