Actually, to be specific, "The Golden Compass" is only the first in the book series (named the "His Dark Materials" trilogy) upon which the films are based, so I don't actually know if they're going to stick with the "Golden Compass" title throughout the trilogy of films.

Also, the pair of angel lovers (Balthamos & Baruch) don't show up until the second book in the trilogy. That's why they wouldn't've been (and weren't) in the first film.

Anyhow, does anyone know? Anyone heard anything about it? Will they be portrayed as same-sex lovers or will that aspect be removed from the films?

The christian who say - all those who claimed were Prophet of God are dead, but Jesus is a live, therefore Christianity must be the true religion.

The question is what is the use of him being alive if he, like those who are dead, is absent?

Can anyone in the 21st century believe in the pope any more?

Here is a mortal man, who claims to be the living represenatative of god the creator on earth.

What an arrogant rude bastard!

Now after his church has scared the pants off catholics for centuries telling them when they die they are going to burn in hell for their sins, (unless living family members pay money for redemption and that will cut down the time in purgatory), as the representative of god on earth now the pope has the power to grant amnesty to the souls of the dead !!

In a real world this person who be carted off and seen as the fraud and conman he and his church are.

If evil exists its living in the vatican, and I for one would love to be there when god arrived so I could see the look on Ratzinger's face or whatever his name is and had to explain the millions of lives his (and many other religions) have taken in gods name.

Look elsewhere for god. God isnt at the vatican.

What do you think?

I the last year have been having a large inner battle with myself. I have felt a strong need to find religon. The problem is that I was raised a catholic but I dont knowif I believe what the bible says. I believe there were Dinosaurs. That is not in the bible. I also somewhat believe that we might have come fom apes. Where do I find religon in this where can I find a purpose. I have felt lost and feard death and satan which isn't like me. I'm not sure where all these feelings are fueling from but if anyone can give me an insight on anything I have said that would be great. Thanks so much!

For me it was when I was 18 and I worked as a motel maid to earn money for new tires. As soon as I bought the tires I quit. A few months later I did it again (only job skill I had). Deceided then that I had to acquire some decent job skills!!

How do you think Peter would respond to the Beliefs, Doctrines, and Teachings of the Catholic Church, especially those concerning him? Do you think Peter would Accept the Catholic Church as is (Concerning its Doctrines, Beliefs, and Teachings), or do you think he would Rebuke and Correct the Catholic Church?

Please keep in mind that this is not an invitation to Catholic Bash. We are adults here, so let us keep it Respectful.

We've shared my birthday but not his yet, so this still new at gift giving. He likes small things, fun to use. I was thinking a featherbed or camera but am concerned camera may not be the one he wanted. Suggestions please...

I've asked a few questions regarding Creationism in the past, and I usually get a few people--who are, I'm sure, trying to be helpful--who post a few links to Creationist websites.

I like to think that I'm an open-minded person, so I've gone and looked at these sites, and I've found that the so-called "evidence" they offer to support Creationism is...pretty bad.

In fact, I find it difficult to believe that anyone who has any inkling of things like geology, etc. can look at this evidence and be convinced.

So I'm wondering if Creationists have an understanding of the supposed "science" and "evidence" that support their...I'll call it an hypothesis for lack of a better word.

So what I'm asking is for you simply to pick some phenomenon, occurence, process, etc. that you feel supports the hypothesis of Creationism, and explain it to me IN YOUR OWN WORDS, that I might be enlightened. Please no links or cut-and-paste; I want to hear YOU describe it.
