i agree that every one no matter what race they are should be able to date/court guys without ridicule, but if they are old enough and not doing something they should not be doing.

I agree that Filipinas should be allowed to court guys, especially if she is a Filipino-American. I don't mean to be hypocritic, but I personally think that courting is primarily the man's job since I believe in the old traditional kind of living. But that's just me.
There's nothing wrong with it, though.

In the Filipino tradition, it is a taboo when a girl "courts" a boy. Personally, I would say that a girl should not do so.
Why? because, even if Filipino guys wouldn't admit it, they think a girl is not "respectable" enough if she courts a boy.
Besides, a girl has the ability to do little and subtle things to tell a boy that she is open to the prospect of getting to know him better. If the boy doesn't get the message, well, it's either he's just too stupid and coward, or he's not interested.
By the way, who wants to have a guy, who is not smart enough to understand what a girl wants!

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Filipino tradition and culture. But in westernised culture it's not uncommon to see women actively pursue men, and men actively pursue women. Of course it's more traditional for the man to do the courting which would normally involve such things as asking for a date, giving flowers, paying for the meal, etc.
I don't see anything wrong with it as long as the woman doesn't throw herself at the man with unwanted gestures.

I agree with alexia's mommy.
I don't think kids should date until they're 16 years old. So long as you are old enough and you're not doing anything inappropriate, you should be allowed to date whoever you'd like.
